Control Microsoft Word using C#

6 New Member
Hi All,

I think im posting My request in correct place.
If this is the wrong place to post my request, please email back to [email removed]. Thanks.

I need to develop a simple program using C# or any other language, which controls Microsoft Word.

I'll be doing the same operation's with microsoft word all the time, like to open a file edit in MS-Word, and same code again amd again. format it and so on.

So what i want to do is, when i click "File" Tab, dropdown menu is displayed.
and when i click "New" new file is opened, so on.

So instead of i doing this all the time, i want write a code where the OS accepts a click command from C# code as if a human being is clicking the "file menu tab" and operating MS-Word.

Please let me know if you've questions on what im trying to explain.

Thanks in advance,
Negss

Sorry friend, I don't think that is possible. Word has an XML SDK that allows you to do some interesting things with XML solutions and the Word application, but I dont know if there is a way to control Word explicitly. However you can build your own application that uses Word.

Hi All, I've finally getting into .NET and have a question for you all. I'm creating an app that needs to insert user data into a word doc. One way I thought of doing this was to save the Word Bookmark names, Control names and db field names in a XML file. in the app I would like to be able to load those items into memory and use these items to fill out the word doc without the code knowing the name of the controls or db fields. Heres an...

Hi guys I'm using Microsoft Word from asp.net, using VB Script CreateObject etc to load Word on the client. It keeps coming up with the "run active x control" dialog, saying that MSWord is not signed. 2 questions... why is it not signed? I'd have though MS would sign all its ActiveX controls? and is there anyway to prevent the dialog while maintaining

Hi. I've never created an ActiveX control before, so I know little about what it is capable of and what its limitations are. My problem is this: I have to create a way to send multiple documents from the web server to a printer on the user's network. The way it works today the user has to manually download each document and send it to his printer, but now they want me to create an automated process. Will I be able to download documents...

I need to display and allow the user to print a Word document from within a C# WinForm application. I'm using the ActiveX Browser control. The Word document displays correctly, but remains "locked" after the form and application is closed. If I try to delete the document, the message "File in use by Microsoft Word" is displayed. How do I correctly close and/or unload the document? Also, any example of displaying the printer icon and menu...

Hi all, This is my first time trying to creaet and use a custome Web Control in a Web Site project in ASP.NET 2.0 with VS 2005 and VB. I created the control in a separate Web Control Library project. The original code for that control was written in VS 2003 for .NET 1.1. I created a Web Project and pulled the VB module into the project. I compared the syntax to the VB template classs that was built and it looked very similar. I then...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
