How to take care Modules and Class Modules (Access) in ASP.Net

2 New Member
Hi All,

I am involved in migratinig one of the MS Access Project to ASP.Net and SQL Server 2000. My question here is that how Modules and Class Modules (MS Access) can be taken care in ASP.Net. To some extend I know the answer (I beleive) but I want to know whether that is the right way or any other solution is available.

My understanding is,
1) MS Access Modules will be placed in the App_code directory (wrt .Net 2.0) and set the Methods and the variables to "static".

2) MS Access Class Modules can be treated as a class in ASP.Net also, I beleive it meets the requirement.

I just want to know whether my understanding on the above modules are right or any other better solution is available.

Any pointer towards this will help me to solve the problem.

Thanks
Nanda.

Hello, I've created an archive import class (with the help of importers.py from the python /demo/imputil dir) which imports packages and modules from a dictionary. So far so good. The problem is that every import statement after the code: imputil.ImportManager().install() sys.path.insert(0, DictImporter(archive))

I am very new to Python, but have done plenty of development in C++ and Java. One thing I find weird about python is the idea of a module. Why is this needed when there are already the ideas of class, file, and package? To my mind, although one CAN put many classes in a file, it is better to put one class per file, for readability and maintainability. One can then create packages and libraries, using groups of files, one

I need a fundamental explanation of Class Modules - something suitable for newbies. Access 2.0 didn't seem to focus on them very much. Now that I'm using Access 97, it seems they're everywhere. thx N advance.

I'm new to A97 - moving up from Access 2.0 and Access Basic. Would like to build a fundamental, sound understanding of class modules. Is there a site with an example of a simplistic class module saved as I understand that Access 97's standard modules are essentially what 1.x and 2.0 global modules. I would like to study and experiment with an Access 97 class module created in a standard module. Thank-you.

At running the risk of asking how big is too big... Is there a rule of thumb or a best practice that says I may have too many modules? I currently have a Access2K app with about 30 code modules, plus of course the modules associated with the forms themselves. My practice has been to create a seperate module to handle specific groupings of code, for example, a seperate module to handle clipboard actions, window sizing actions, etc.

Hey people I'm an experience PHP programmer who's been writing python for a couple of weeks now. I'm writing quite a large application which I've decided to break down in to lots of modules (replacement for PHP's include() statement). My problem is, in PHP if you open a database connection it's always in scope for the duration of the script. Even if you use an abstraction layer ($db = DB::connect(...)) you can `global $db` and bring...

Hi, I have the below code to transfer code modules between Access database files. I have three problems, only one of which is annoying. a) How do you prevent the Save As box from appearing when the instance of Access is closed? I've tried the acQuitSaveAll as well as the acCmdCompileAndSaveAllModules route. b) The On Error line was added when the code was in Access 2003, when I was getting an error message regarding a bad DLL...

This is NOT a complete OO perl tutorial However I thought it could be beneficial to explain some of the basic concepts, and allow some users to simplify the software design process. I have found it to be extremely useful and beneficial to create my own "custom" modules. It (among many other things) allows you to type less. Or to make your keystrokes matter more, however you look at it. (If you do even look at it.) Things the reader...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
