Hi,
On Friday I attended the Microsoft EVO conference in London where they
talked about Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange 2007 and how they all work
together beautifully, how they were all "people-ready" etc...
I asked a couple of questions about Visual Studio.NET on Vista, especially
on 64-bit Vista, and they became *very* nervous...
To cut a long story short, Microsoft will not support ANY version of Visual

Hi
As Windows Vista is around the corner, I'm considering upgradeing my dev
machine. But, one thing I'm curiouse about it if there are any known issues
with Vista and Visual Studio 2005.
Not fun to use 2 days reinstalling, and when I'm finnally sitting down to do
some programming, something hangs or is broken. I've heard something that
Visual Studio 2005 will not be supported until SP 1 for VS is released.
Anyone got any info?

I am Using Vista with Visual Studio 2005 and when I open a project, it could
take a full minute or two before the "start debugging" button turns green on
the menu. Also, in the Solution Explorer, the buttons for "View Designer",
"View Code", and "Refresh" don't appear. If I am in the designer, I need to
right click on the form and choose view code to see the code.
On my XP machine, everything works just fine. Has this happened to...

First of all, I tried installing VS2005 Pro on Vista Ultimate 32 bit RTM and
Vista told me that VS2005 was not compatible with Vista. How the hell can
that happen? I thought one of the main ideas of .Net was portability.
Then, when I looked around some more, I saw that VS2002 and VS2003 will NOT
be supported on Vista. What the hell? That violates Microsoft's own terms
of support for both of those products!
It is clear that...

(I know this is a great big newsgroup no-no, but I originally only posted to
microsoft.public.dotnet.general and that newsgroup doesn't seem to have near
the readership of these - so I thought I'd also post this info here for the
benefit of the greater dotnet programming community.)
Well, after looking at this list, I'm thinking of staying with XP/VS2005 for
a while longer. At least until SP2 is out and Vista has been burped a few...

Hi,
I have just installed Visual Studio 2005 on my windows Vista machine,
and everything seems to work well after installing the service pack
and then the vista upgrades.
However, when I try to debug an application, the debugger starts,
launches the project in explorer, but then stops debugging. It pops up
with an error saying:

Does anyone know which edition of Vista you have to buy if you use Visual
Studio and probably will upgrade to Visual Studio 2008? Is the Ultimate
edition necessary, or will the home or business edition work just fine?

I am running Visual studio 2003 with framework 1.1 on a vista platform.
However it runs very slow in debug mode, especially while it is loading dlls.
What is the problem? Is there a compatibility problem between XP and Vista?
How to speed it up? If I upgrade the Visual studio 2003 to 2005, will it
solve the
problem?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
