Hello... I have a C# app, and am trying to save a web page as a .mht file using CreateMHTMLBody. It was working a while back, but now I am getting "interface not registered" errors when calling the method. Any ideas? I have upgraded to VS 2003, and am wondering if that has something to do with it. I haven't gone thru this code in a while - so I can't say for sure that it stopped working when I "upgraded" to VS2003. I've deleted and...

I am trying to work on an application that uses a dll as a COM object. I am coming in late to this project to administer/update the application. I notice in the References that a particular DLL is referenced as "Interop.DLLName" and I have the original DLL file as just DLLName with no Interop. My first question is why is the word "Interop" on the beginning of the DLL name and how do you get it to that state?

I have encountered a situation that I don't understand. When I call a sub of Friend scope (in an object with Friend scope), I am getting an error "Public member 'subname' not found in type 'myType'". Any idea why? Since Friend scope should be visible within my assembly, and everying is taking place within a single project, I don't understand why this error is occuring. Here is some illustrative code, where I would get the error in the...

I've finally figured out the basics of OOP; I've created a basic character creation class for my game and it works reasonably well. Now that I'm trying to build a subclass that has methods to determine the rank of a character but I keep getting errors. I want to "redefine" some attributes from the base class so I can use them to help determine the rank. However, I get the error that my base class doesn't have the dictionary that...

I attempted to find the solution and came close (http://blogs.msdn.com/robgruen/archive/2005/01/24/359660.aspx) but cannot go any further. I have an ASP.NET (2003/C#) app that calls a VB 6 DCOM on a remote server. Identity used on DCOM is the same identity as used for the IIS app. Line of code that throws error: object obj = Activator.CreateInstance(Type.GetTypeFromProgID("class","server1"));

Hi everyone, I've been trying to figure out this error for a while, hopefully someone has had a similar experience and has some insight. I recent migrated an ASP.NET app to 2.0. On pages that contain validation controls, I get the following error: "The WebResource.axd handler must be registered in the configuration to process this request.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
