Binding .NET application to single CPU

We have a multi-threaded .NET application, the problem is that the
previous programmer didn't care to have locks on the shared variables.
Somehow the application doesn't end up in Locked state on a single CPU
machine but I have tried running it on several dual core machines and
it randomly freezes. I am searching for a quick-fix until I implement
locks around all the shared variables in the entire application.

Is there a way to bound the .NET application to single CPU.

Thanks!

Binding to a single CPU isn't going to fix your problem.

Every single race condition you hit on a dual-core machine will also hit on
a single processor machine, albiet slightly less frequently.

At this point, there is no quick fix solution - you need to have someone fix
the application.

No one on any of the other boards seem to know In VB.Net this late binding works fine Dim Version As Integer Dim Revision As Integer Dim Wnum As Integer Dim o As System.Array = System.Array.CreateInstance (GetType(Single), 1)

Hi I have a question about whether Data Binding can facilitate the process of saving data in a web application I learned that you can data bind information from a number of different data sources to controls such as TextBox, ListBox, etc. I am clear on the concept of data flowing from data sources into web forms controls What I am not clear about is how to make the data flow the other way. When I am ready to save the changes or add a...

I have looked and searched. What good is the databind property on Radiobuttons? How does one go about actually using it? What is a good resource on this? I understand that I can easily get/set the information I need programmatically, but what about the databind property I just don't understand it's value.

I'm not sure if I'm going down the correct route... I have a class which exposes a number of properties of an object (in this case the object represents a customer). Can I then use this object to databind to text boxes etc? I can't use a dataset as the object has loads of derived logic, for example updating one property may actually update several database fields for example.

hi All, I've decided to use Options Strict ON in one of my apps and now I'm trying to fix a late binding issue. I have 5 integer arrays: dim IA1(500), IA2(500), IA3(500), IA4(500), IA5(500) as integer The integers in these arrays are actually pointers to different columns of data in a text file.

In the old days (VB3 era), there was a thing called the Data Control, and you could use it to databind controls on forms to datasources, and so (as the marketing speak goes), 'create database applications without writing a single line of code!!!'. Personally, and I know I wasn't alone in this, I was always suspicious of this claim, because one invariably ended up writing huge amounts of code attempting to get the automagical thing to do...

Using VS2005 and VB.NET and given a Windows Forms application with a single form (Form1) with 2 buttons (Button1 and Button2), I am attempting to instantiate an instance of Excel utilising late binding. The pertinent code is shown below. The business rules are: 1. If an instance of Excel is already running then use the equivalent of GetObject to obtain a reference to that instance, and, when finished, leave that instance running.

Hello: We are working on a large number of forms. The original approach was to use the built-in data designer, type-specific DataTables and form binding. However, we are running into various issues due to the complexity of our forms. For instance, how do you bind to a check box with a data table, or a radio group? Well, I have since started making business objects that wrap around DataRows. The business objects simply provide...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
