FlowLayoutPanel , why can't I remove the space between my controls?

Hi,
I want to make a toolbox form (like the one in Adobe Photoshop), so I would
like to put many buttons one beside the others (beside, over and under, just
like the toolbox in photoshop). I thought FlowLayoutPanel would be the thing
to go, but I can't remove the space between my buttons even if I put all
zeros (0) in margin and padding.

Is there something I'm missing? How can I remove this space (±8px between
buttons)

Thanks

If you don't like te way layout is done you can create your own custom
layout manager.

If FlowLayoutPanel's AutoScroll is set to true, there appears a scroll bar on the right. Normally, users would expect the contents is scrolled while they are dragging the scroll bar. Well, it does, but not when the Windows's "Show window contents while dragging" is disabled. Almost all the Windows' common coltrols scrolls the contents while dragging even if that option is disabled. So, I think FlowLayoutPanel should behave like other...

Hi there, I am trying to implement drag and drop reordering of controls that are placed in a FlowLayoutPanel control but unfortunately as the control collection doesn't have an "insert" method I am having to use the SetChildIndex method, which has some rather adverse side effects which can lead to 2 items having the same index. Would anyone know of another way to implement this functionality? For such a great control this is really...

Is there an upper limit on what FlowLayoutPanel will display? I wrote a test that adds 395 buttons to a flowlayoutpanel and it stopped displaying them after button 310, cutting 310 in half. It allocated enough room in the frame. There's just no button visible after button 310. This is not a frivolous question as I'm using flowlayoutpanel for a photoview layout in a home inventory program. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello. Is there a way to use a FlowLayoutPanel and be able to change the FlowDirection every time it goes on a new row? (I also need to have WrapContents enabled). What I want to obtain is something like a snake effect as in if a have a FlowLayoutPanel expanded on 5 rows for example, I need it to have the FlowDirection LeftToRight on the first row, RightToLeft on the 2nd, LeftToRight on the 3rd and so on. Or maybe could someone point me towards...

I've read several articles/blogs/threads about anchoring/docking child controls in a FlowLayoutPanel. It sounds like it *should* work, but I can't get it to work for the life of me. Jon Skeet: I've created a short and complete sample to illustrate the problem. Beat you to it! :0) I would really appreciate if anyone could take a look at this and tell me what the magic trick is to make this work. All I want is to have the child...

Hello! I have a FlowLayoutPanel placed on a form, and I'm filling it with some custom-panel controls (containing label and two checkboxes). The problem is, I want to hide horizontal scrollbar. I set DockStyle of every panel to Top, but it doesn't work. It shows two scrollbars, with horiz. scrollbar only moving for vert. scrollbar, since the whole panel is not visible (the portion behind vert. scrollbar). I've tried settings AutoScroll =...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
