What is the current preferred way to save user preferences in dotnet? Is the
registry the right place to do this? Can anyone recommend a good article (or

Can my program access the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software section of the
registry when being used by a user with restricted rights (not with admin
rights)?
If so, how? I have a program that functions just fine when run by an
administrator but generates an exception when run by a restricted user. The
program accesses the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software section to set or get
application settings that are not user specific.
Thanks,

Here is what I want to do:
Presently in my registry I have:
(Default) = "C:\Program Files\myApp" and this value is scattered all over
registry in several keys and subkeys.
I wouldlike to have write a small c# app that will search the Data file
"C:\Program Files\myApp" and replace it with "E:\Data\myApp". In regedit one
can search for a certain data, but you can't do "Replace All" with a certain

I'm having trouble entering Additional Registry Keys into my Package
Solution that will deploy the Access 2007 runtime. (Client machine is
running XP with Office 2007 Standard.)
The Package Solution Wizard, on about page 3, has a section for
entering Additional Registry Keys. I want to include a locations key
that will identify my install directory as a Trusted Location, thereby
turning off the Security Alert when users open the ACCDR.

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
