Newbie question ... please respond to group
I'm trying to open/navigate to a url. How can I tell when the page is
fully loaded? Testing suggest that window.open returns before the
page is completely loaded and displayed. Likewise, window.navigate.
The code looks something like this:
wHandle = window.open( url, name, flags );
....
// how to tell when url is fully loaded and displayed

Hi all -
And apologies if I'm in the wrong newsgroup. I'm a newbie here and I'd
certainly appreciate any pointers to the right forum. To the point...
We're running a WebBrowser object (through an AxWebBrowser activex control),
and have found that it navigates to a "cannot load" error page when the
network cable's unplugged. I should add at this point that we're trying to
navigate to a page on localhost ;-)

I have been chasing this one down for a week and have narrowed it down to a
machine issue.
I have the following code:
webBrowser.Navigate(http://finao.net/post_dkp.php?database=40);
Basically all this script does is create an xml output file.
After the navigate, the function stops and is triggered again when
webbrowser_DocumentCompleted fires and then the XML file is read by the

I started a new job and the version of Visual Studio 2005 that I am
now using does not have the Navigate Backward Button nor the Navigate
Forward Button in the Standard Toolbar, and they are not available
when I Add or Remove buttons from the Standard Toolbar.
(I had these two buttons in the VS 2005 of my previous job).
How can I add them?
How can I add them easily. I googled this subject and found only that

How do we get out of the browser infinite loop quicksand when we navigate
to web pages designed to lock us in and force us to hit the "pay me" button
(whatever they want to force you to do)?
These are just a sample of nasty quicksand web pages I've run into which
lock your browser into a loop and won't let you get out until you hit the
"install" or "run" or "OK" button... (whatever it is they want you to do).

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes anyway. I
pull out "javascript:__doPostBack('ctl01$ContentPlaceHolderMain
$Page_SearchResults$Results','LID_2076923')" from an href in an object
I'm parsing and set URLaddress to be that string
On a whim, I then plug it into obIe.navigate (URLaddress) and miracle
of miracles, it actually brought me to the right web page, which I
didn't think it would do and have no idea why it...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
