Editing a Gridview without Datasource using VB - asp.net

9 New Member
Is this possible to update a gridview without datasource or is this a bug. I've tried newvalues and it doesn't work. Actually I've pretty much tried everything, but I always get null values for the text I have changed in my gridview. Also, I am using a stored procedure.
Any help is appreciated. I've been stuck for days..

If I understand you correctly, the datagrid must be bound to some data. Some developers have textboxes in the grid and if a user changes the data, the table is updated and the datagrid reloaded with the new values.

Maybe post some code. Hope that this helps.

Hello, Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview control that was returned by an sql query? I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it. I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in asp.net 1.1...

I ran into a situation this morning where the RowUpdating event of a GridView kept insisting there were no entries in either the OldValues or NewValues dictionaries. The GridView is bound to a strongly-typed collection, derived from CollectionBase, through the control's datasource property at runtime. From some googling it appears that, at...

The gridview rebinds data before the RowCommand or RowEditing events fire. So, if a new record is added to the underlying datasource that changes the index of the row you are trying to edit, you get the wrong row displayed for editing. I am guessing same is true when deleting which is even worse, especially if you are not confirming on...

This seems like it should be simple to do but for some reason I have been unable to make it work. I would like to databind a SqlDataSource to a GridView during the click event of a button. This sounds easy but the next requirement is that the GridView is editable. So I have included the SelectCommand and the UpdateCommand on the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
