Is MaxDB ultimately a "souped up" MySQL? Does anyone know what the plan is? i.e., Is the company going to converge these? Continue to market separate products? Also, how divergent is the code between MySQL and MaxDB? I would appreciate any recommended reading on this topic. --Steve

Hi everyone Is there a possibility to create a MaxDB Cluster? If that is possible where can I find some Informations about building Clusters with MaxDB? (Well I know there is a possibility to create some MySQL Clusters ... so I think it's possible to create also some MaxDB Clusters).

Not sure if this is the right place, but I think that MySQL owns MaxDB. I have MaxDB (SAPDB) installed as part of a packaged SAP installation. I know that I can install a web-based query tool, but it seems like I have to re-install the entire DB, which I cannot do. Is there a way to install the web based tool without a complete re-install?

It would appear that MySQL is making great strides into the commercial and even the enterprise arena. I am not seeing the same news coverage being said about Postgresql. I believe Postgresql has been a much better rdbms than MySQL for a long time, so then why has not Postgresql grabbed the commercial and enterprise arena before MySQL did? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

As per subject, i'm considering migrating a database (still in development) from MaxDB to postgresql. The main reason for this is that the stored procedures (functions) in MaxDB are unreliable and hard to debug, and that the JDBC driver is still experimental. I thought I'd post here to find out how well functions and JDBC are supported in postgresql. If anyone has info or experience on these two things, I'd be interested to see what...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
