I think you can use OpenOffice: Load the xls (xsl, you write???), and
save in the OpenOffice format. Then, unzip the saved file.

You will be able to do the same with Office 2007.

Export in CSV format, then figure out how you want to convert the
columns to your XML markup.

(There are tools which will do a "dumb" CSV to XML conversion, but that
doesn't get you much closer to having Actually Useful XML.)

The real problem is that that's a bad question. XML is a framework for
writing markup languages. There are many XML-based markups, for many
different purposes.

Start by figuring out what kinds of data you are trying to convert into
what kinds of XML. That's what drives everything else. (For example, do
you really need the full spreadsheet, including all its logic -- or just
one fixed table?)

When I export xml(and xls) from Access 2003 the result is a complete report in a single page. I would like to get the entire report in a single page (one trip to the server) for printing and scrolling-preview, but with page breaks and page numbering appropriate to the paper size. I have a sense that this can be done in xsl, since xsl defines the format for everything else in the report. My goal is to avoid the time and expense of...

Hi everybody, I have to build an application that translates documents from an A-XML format to a B-XML format. The problems need a lot of elementary methods translating an a-node to a b-node, so I thought to encapsule these functions in some classes, using a sort of Command pattern. Do you have any other suggestion about? Thanks in advance,

Hi. I am using XSL to transform an XML document into HTML. All is well, except newlines in blocks of text held in the XML elements. The XML file is being generated by a VB program. I have tried changing the crlf codes to <br />, but they are just ignored when run through the XSL script. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
