I have a web service that adds a DIME attachment:
public void GetFile(string filename)
{
SoapContext sc = HttpSoapContext.ResponseContext;
DimeAttachment dimeFile = new DimeAttachment("application/DIME",
TypeFormatEnum.MediaType, @"c:\temp\" + filename);
sc.Attachments.Add(dimeFile);

Please advice!
Hi All, Clients are uploading large files to my Web Portal. I need to
validate these files using a WS. Problem is file sizes are in the range of

Q1. How do I send DIME attachments to the WebSvc from my Portal?

Someone here wrote that MS has dropped its commitment
to DIME (see link below). I could not find any other info on this
from googling around. Has MS made this public anywhere?
Links would be appreaciated.
And, if DIME is to be dropped, what will be used instead for
file attachments with SOAP? I know about encoding everything
in base64 but this is a very inneficient method for large attachments.

Hi!
I am trying SOAP with DIME attachments in web services. For example
say, I have a file resume.pdf stored somewhere on my server. How does
the web service send the file to the client, so that the client can
store it and also read from it. I am trying out with C# and ASP.NET.
Server Side Web Method:

Hi,
I have a 3 tier system using web services
I want to attach on the 3rd tier - data access
to the middle tier - business rules
and call the business rule tier from the front end to get the attachment
So the first problem is getting it from the back end tier to the middle tier
The middle tier calls the back end tier to get the attachment whci it then
streams and reattaches for the front end

I have in web service which receives WSE DIME attachments as byte arrays,
and stores them in files
From an asp .net page i add an dime attchment to the RequestSoapContext, i
check the count of attachments and it says "1"
on the web service size, when I check the count of the attachments it says
"0"
what may be the reason?

Hi all,
This problem is close to driving me insane.
Basically, I'm trying to use DIME to add an attachment to a SOAP
message and send it to the web server. The WSE 2.0 toolkit is
installed, which allows for DIME to be used and everything is set up
correctly as far as I know.
My code is:

Does anyone know if DIME is available for Visual Studio.NET 2005?
I have Visual Studio.NET 2003 and I installed the Web Services
Extension pack 2.0 in order that I could use DIME. Seems to work well.
I'll probably getting VS.NET 2005 soon, which uses Extension pack 3.0.
I know this extension pack includes MTOM - supposed to be DIME's
successor - but does it also include DIME?
Anyone know?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
