Folder for installed program opens when Windows is started

After downloading the latest critical updates from Microsoft anything I
install has it's folder in "C:/Program Files/xxx new installation" open at
Windows Boot. I have 2 such programs, one is Musicmatch Jukebox 10 Plus and
the other is Winfast DVD PVR Video capture. I have looked in the registry,
win.ini, autoexec and the windows startup folder with no sign of both
applications. How can I stop these two program folders from opening at
startup?

Hi -- I am trying to code a "mad libs" style program, in which the user puts in nouns, adjectives, etc., into text boxes. Then the user clicks on a button which opens a message box. Inside the message box is a story with blanks filled in by what the user entered into the text boxes. Only when my message box opens, it does not plug in the user's words. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or does anyone

Hello all. I have a program that manages (delete, copy, open, etc) several files inside a shared folder in a server, but the users some times use the Windows Explorer to open and work with files, I do not want it, because my program opens the files and store some data in a SQL database, so, if the users open the files with Windows Explorer, my databse is not updated. If I unshare this folder, in order to eliminate the access with Win...

Hi, I have the following code to select a folder and then delete it. I keep getting a Path/File error on the line that deletes the actual folder. The line before that line deletes the files in the folder but I get the error message when the procedure attempts to delete the folder selected in the BrowseforFolderbyPath function. How can I get it to delete the folder that the user has selected in the Browse for Folder dialog?

I'm looking for a "smart folder" program to run on my Windows XP machine. I'm not having any luck finding it and think the logic behind the program is pretty simple, but I'm not sure how I'd implement this. I've done some VB6 programming and dabbled in VS.Net. Can someone share some pointers in how I could implement the following? Basically, you drag a file to the "smart" folder and, depending on the type of file and settings for that...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
