Hi,
I'm after help using reflection with the propertygrid. I am creating
a dynamic class and putting it into a propertygrid. For simple
textboxes, static content dropdowns and datetime controls it is fairly
simple. However I need a dynamic dropdown list.
I have an object that contains a list of departments. I want to add
this to a dropdown list within the propertygrid.

Hello.
After I converted my .net code to the new VC2005 syntax I started to get
C4490 on my ExpandableObjectConverter subclass overrides. The GetProperties
method is no longer called by the PropertyGrid when I use my subclass as a
type converter.
Can anyone tell me what has changed? What's the correct way to override
GetProperties method? Here's the code for my class:

Is there a TypeConverter that converts Doubles to percent values in a PropertyGrid? The Windows.Forms.Form.Opacity property seems to use the TypeConverter that I want.
Thank you,

Hi,
I would like to create a workable ExpandableObjectConverter for a String
Collection (class inheriting from CollectionBase for example and only
accepting/returning Strings via Add/Remove/Item/DefaultProprty) and a fitting
Descriptor (implementing ICustomTypeDescriptor)... now i created it and it
somewhat works.. my big problem is that i the String classs does not have a
default constructor and so the "Add" item in the collection pop...

Hi
I've just upgraded some Type Editors from 1.1 to 2.0 and whilst they compile
OK, I'm not getting any results in the test harness PropertyGrid. Usually
when you select a particular property, the ellipsis appears at the end of the
cell and this is not heppening.
I was therefore wondering if there had been changes in TypeEditors between
..NET versions 1.1 and 2.0 that I hadn't hear about.

Hi,
I have a property called Textures that is an array of type String. The
property definition is below:
<TypeConverter(GetType(Austere3D.Lists.TextureList()))_
<Editor(GetType(Austere3D.Lists.TextureList),
GetType(UITypeEditor))_

Hi there,
Can anyone provide any insight on why MSFT introduced
"TypeConverter.GetProperties()". There are two classes for dealing with
metadata in .NET, 'Type" and "TypeDescriptor". Each has a "GetProperites()"
method so why complicate the situation even more than it already is by
adding a "GetProperties()" method to "TypeConverter". The class is supposed
to be for converting types so "GetProperties()" seems misplaced and
redundant (as...

I have written all these wonderful custom TypeConverter for my enums
to display in a PropertyGrid. I would now like to use the same
TypeConverter to save out and read in the values to and from a text
file, in a generic fashion. I would like to have a function like
this:
void WriteValue(StreamWriter sw, string name, Enum value);

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
