I'm looking for anyone who has had problems with code that once worked and
now fails. In particular, Common Controls. This past Friday (5/5/06), my code
was working fine. On Monday, I upgraded from .Net 2003 to .Net 2005. Now,
I've got some various problems with common controls. For example, tool tips.
I had been using the technique explained in XTipComboBox - Display tooltips
for combobox ( http://www.codeproject.com/combobox/xtipcombobox.asp). I used
it on an edit box. In .Net 2003 it worked fine. Now, with 2005 the tool tips
never appear! I've had some other problems with combo boxes as well. Has
anyone run into similar problems? If so, did you resolve them? How?

Again drawing on the groups experience:-
1. For general file opening and file saving, using VB6, are there any issues
with using the FileOpen and FileSave Common Dialog Boxes?
2. Is using the FileOpen and FileSave Common Dialog Boxes the best way to go
in general?
3. For Most of my projects I will be using the same types of data input form
and report output form, as discussed here recently. Also, the files that are

In vs 2003/1.1 runtime I was using the NetXP (www.dacris.com) extensions
that allowed you to make windows forms that had the tab control found in
Visual Studio .NET. I mean like the solution browser, class viewer, etc.
windows...how you could drag & drop the subwindows, or stick and hide them,
etc.
Is there a built in control like this for VS 2005/2.0 runtime? I can't
seem to find it. It does have the Office 2003 style toolbars built...

Hello,
Maybe a common case, but I really want to not so much as migrate from
PHP/MySQL to C# .NET but learn the new language.
I have made maybe 3/4 very simple systems using C# .NET, but they all
seem to be a little, well simple -- and not uniform at all.
When I use PHP, I always incorperate some kind of template system, so,
say I have a master template and a child template which is loaded

Introduction
Usability and relevance have been identified as the major factors
preventing mass adoption of
Business Intelligence applications. What we have today are traditional
BI tools that don't work
nearly as well as they should, even for analysts and power users. The
reason they haven't
reached the masses is because most of the tools are so difficult to use
and reveal so little

Hi
Can anyone help me with a project upgrade issue?:
If you creeate a C# Windows application in VS 2003, then by default
the forms do not have the XP look common controls. To get them, you
have to specify version 6.0.0.0 of Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls
as a depency in a manifest file for the exe.
If you create a similar C# Windows app in VS2005, then by default the

Sincerly is a little bit complicated to explain to you what I have in
my
mind, but I will try:
Above all the problem is the type of data that I want to passe between
these two applications. The complete application that I want to create
consiste of two applications:
- the console developped with VS C++, that use some libraries
developped with Borland C++
- the GUI of application that interact with the console.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
