I am using VB.NET and for some reason debugging is not working properly.
Sometimes it will work and then other times it will not work at all. I will
often times have to Start the program using debug mode 5-10 times before my
break point is reached IF it is reached at all. Is there a solution?
Heres some system information
Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 69586-270-0000007-18268
Microsoft Visual C# .NET 69586-270-0000007-18268

I have a VB.NET web project that I wrote on my computer with Studio. It
works great, on my computer. However when I ported it over to my company's
production server it doesn't know how to handle the codebehind.
Other programmers have written NET pages using Matrix, which puts
everything in 1 file instead of splitting it up, and they work fine. I
tried merging my Studio's aspx and vb files into one but it didn't work.
Does anyone have an...

Hello, I have set up my development environment to work in an isolated mode
for our Web Application we are developing. So, each developer checks the
files out from the master source safe library to their local machine and
they debug with their local IIS. The bad part is, when we are not in this
network, we have no way to access the SQL backend (in any decent response
time). Is there a way to SYNC the SQL DB schema also when we are...

Sorry for OT question, but does any one have a working *.bat file to
get Comeau to work with VC++ 7.1, VC++ 8.0, or GNU 3.x compilers.
I've tried everything I can think off, to get it to work, and I get
compile errors.
I'm currently using the following *.bat file
http://axter.com/complr.bat
With the following simple hello world source code:

I'm trying to create a "standalone" install package (without any of the dialog boxes that a standard setup package would have). I think I understand how to do it in VB6 (using PDCmdLn.exe); I have already researched this subject in the MSDN for VB6.
Here is the problem: I'm trying to execute a batch file containing this command and I'm running into a couple of errors. Here is the contents of the batch file:

I am creating an ASP.NET application in a subdirectory of what IIS uses as
the root directory (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\). I am using the version of IIS that
comes with Windows XP Pro SP2. Some of my code in my ASP.NET application
uses root-relative URLs, such as /images/background.gif. However, because
the subdirectory my application is in is not the root directory of IIS, I
cannot test my application on my machine. Is there any way to avoid...

Working in Visual Studio 2005 and C#, I have an application that has an exe
and several dll files in the bin\debug directory.
The code in question looks something like this:
string assemblyFile = "Module.dll";
....
Assembly.LoadFile(assemblyFile);
Up until a couple of hours ago, this worked perfectly in Debug mode. It

Suddenly I find myself unable to open Winforms files in designer mode. I get
the message quoted below. I can open other types of vb files like modules,
classes and code behind files, but simply creating a new project and double
clicking on Form1.vb gets me this message:
<<<
There is no editor available for
'C:\....\Form1.vb'.
Make sure the application for the file type (.vb) is installed.

I just started with a new client who is supplying me with a new development
box with Visual Studio 2005 installed, for ASP.NET development.
When developing, I launch the application in debug mode by hitting F5. The
browser appears and life is good. But when I close the browser, Visual
Studio remains in debugging mode. I have to click the "Stop Debugging"
button in the toolbar (or Shift+F5) to get Visual Studio out of debugging
mode.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
