automatically post data & click buttons on sequence of web pages with AxWebBrowser Hi, I need to post stuff everyday to a website and am working on a VB program to do this for me. I am a computer technician and I post an ad on craigslist.org everyday but sometimes I don't have time to do this. So, I accomplished so far to load the first page and post my ad in the textbox, with title and email address, and to alter the radio button and...

I want to place a background image on a windows form. Is there a way to prevent the image from Tiling without using an image box resized to the size of the form? I am using Visual Studio 2003 .NET. This is an easy thing to do in VB6.

Hi everyone, Is there anyway to create some sort of catch-all in windows forms applications that could ensure that no unexpected exceptions bring down an application? For example, perhaps there is an event that you can watch for whenever an exception is thrown? If this isnt possible can anyone suggest the best way to handle unforeseen exceptions? I'm assuming that surrounding huge chunks of application code in try catch blocks would be...

I have a lot of respect for David Fenton and Allen Browne, but I don't understand why people who know how to write code to completely replace a front end do not write something that will automate the code that implements managing unbound controls on forms given the superior performance of unbound controls in a client/server environment. I can easily understand a newbie using bound controls or someone with a tight deadline. I guess I need...

Hi all. I felt frustrated when developing an 'UserControl' derivated from textBox, because sequence event (and Validate event) seems to fail. I Always thought my code was wrong. But after trying the UserControl a lot of hours I have the feeling that c# (or .Net) fails. Thus, I have developed a simple program with 3 textBox, 1 Botton and 1 ListBox (for showing results) which fire OnEnter, OnGotFocus,

Hi all, I'm having troubles with a Symbol 9000 device (Compact Framework v 1.1) when activating the barcode scanner from a window. The problem is related to the Activated event of the form which carries the task of the initializing the scanner. It looks like this event is not called after the creation of one of the forms. Let me describe shortly the sequence of form creation. The app first call a browsing form by using ShowDialog()....

You would think this list exists but I can’t find it anywhere. Is this the correct order for these events to be called? Global.asax Application_Start (only once) Global.asax Application_Init (initialize for app here – can be called multiple times) BeginRequest AuthenticateRequest PostAuthenticateRequest

I'm just wondering if this would work. Please note that I'm not asking *how* to raise events. I'm clear on that. What I'm not clear on is the sequence in which events are raised by custom controls relative to the hosting Page, and therefore if the following specific arrangement would even work. What I'm looking to do is dynamically insert multiple custom composite Web server controls onto a blank Page. This is no problem, I know how to do...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
