Issue with CLR Debugger?

Hi,

I am trying to use CLR Debugger, but i am unable to open up
'Disassembly' window. Now here is what i do. First off, i open up my
exe using 'Program to Debug' i.e. MyProject.exe and then i open up my
'MyProject.cs' i.e. C# source code file by going to
File->Open->File->MyProject.cs .
Now im unable to launch 'Dissasembly' Window. Now according to MSDN, i
should open up 'Dissassembly' Window from Debug->Windows->Dissasembly,
but i can't see a Disasembly menu item in Debug->Windows.
What i am missinig here? Moreover , as im a newbie what are the
benefits of using CLR Debugger? I mean how can CLR Debugger benefit you
in learning Dot Net in general and C# in particular?
Any help will be higly appreciated

Ok, starting from the basics. Reference types and value types are all objects underneath. So, a String is an object as well. Now, when when we are debugging and we examine the contents of a String object - the debugger actually shows the value of containing string object when you keep a watch on the instance variable. But when I create my OWN type which holds a string inside - and get this

I implemented article "Inserting relational data using DataSet and DataAdapter" from this link: http://www.codeproject.com/cs/database/relationaladonet.asp In my code. It has a perfect explanation; still I got stuck at one point. Debugger shows, that it happens when I'm at this stage: static void CustDataAdapter_OnRowUpdate(object sender, OleDbRowUpdatedEventArgs e) { OleDbCommand custCmd = new OleDbCommand("SELECT @@IDENTITY",...

I am having yet another issue with Windows Server 2003. This time, the web service (a file import web service) appears to run except for one odd message: "ActiveX component can't create object". There are no other statements to indicate what object cannot be created. Otherwise, everything on the test Windows Server 2003 works fine—all import data updates correctly. Unfortunately, my normal development environment is not Windows...

I am having an interesting and rather frustrating issue with the encoding/decoding of parameters with the ASP.NET runtime. What I am doing isn't exactly revolutionary so hopefully someone has an answer for this. I have a page that accepts a number of parameters. Those parameters may sometimes include URL reserved characters like spaces and ampersands. I use a combination of HTML and URL encoding to build links to this page and...

I'm writing an ASP.NET app, using Visual Studio 2003. VS is running locally on my laptop, but the web app is running on a remote server. My laptop is not in the domain. I do have a domain account. I had no issue creating the web app on the remote server after authenticating with the domain account, but I can't debug. It complains that I don't have rights. My domain account is in the administrators group on the remote machine. I also have...

This is baffling me - I'm coming here in a desperate plea that someone smarter than myself (which isn't hard) might be able to explain what's going on. I've got a native C++ console app that has been working perfectly - built using VCExpress 2005, VC Redist, platform SDK (include Windows.h, define WIN32_LEAN_AND_MEAN - am I missing anything?) I recently found out how to "CLR enable" the app by 1) changing my new- make file to compile...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
