Trace problem

Hi

There are two parts: web service and test app that called a method of the
web service.
Diagnostics trace is enabled but I can't find trace files on webserver:(
I'm using WSE 2.0.
any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Ink_,
Probably, the ASP.NET account doesn't have file permissions to create or
write the trace file. Take a look to the eventlog, WSE usually registers the
error there.

Hi all, I have an application that uses Oracle's JDBC thin driver 9.0.x to have a nice, friendly chat with 8.1.x database. During this exchange the server rudely interrupts the conversation and causes the application to fubar. The driver reports this as 'Connection reset' (IOException) without any error numbers. The server is hosted by a 3rd party in one of those "controlled" environments so my first guess is network/tx timeout but...

I have some code that calls methods reflectively (the method called and its parameters are determined by text received in a SOAP message, and I construct a map from strings to MethodInfos). The code that does the call looks roughly like: try { // do reflective call response = method.Invoke(obj, params); }

Hi, I have created an asp.net application as a project, and also another project that is just a class library. My asp.net application calls a function in the class library. I am attempting to place instrumentation inside the function of my class library to write to a text file, I am using an TextWriterTraceListener object.. The problem is that I can write to the trace listener with the following

When I set trace enable to true in my web.config file, the debug info does not display at the "bottom" of the page, it displays "under" all of my buttons, labels, grids etc. This behavior happens in GridLayout, or FlowLayout. ? Thanks, TPS.

I'm experiencing a problem where, for seemingly no reason, trace output stops being logged (and appearing on my pages.) trace.enabled suddenly just turns to false. Any idea why this happens? It actually is happening on 2 machines I work on. Thanks.

Hello all. I'm writing an application that is writing trace information that can be viewed in trace.axd. I would like to rename this and use a different name specific to my application. I know the name of this is set in machine.config. I was hoping it would be possible to change this in web.config. I got it to work, kind of. Good news is I can change the name in my web.config file. Bad news is that trace.axd still works meaning I can...

Hi, I'm an MFC programmer and know little about .NET programming. Now, for some reasons, I'm developing an ASP .NET application... What I need to know is how to output into VS's Output Window like what MFC's TRACE macro does (during debugging). Could you please share your knowledge with me? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I am currently supporting an ASP based system which is using Commerce Server 2000. On and off when the end user using the module, as long as the module have to do with user profile processing, it may land on an error page saying "An invalid value has been specified for key member." (random occurence, sometime it works fine). After searching the MSDN via the link below: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms962856.aspx It...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
