Web Service call fails with HTTP Status 403..Access Forbidden

Hi..Created a simple web service in MS Visual Studio 2005 on my dev
laptop. I can access it fine on the laptop. I then created a web
setup project and deployed it to an app server. I now get an HTTP 403
access forbidden message... I checked all the security settings and
they look fine. My dev box is Win XP pro with Visual Studio 2005. The
app server is Windows 2000 server with .Net framework 2.0..(also
installed on the app server is SQL 2005).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve W.

Hello, I'm running an ASPX application "WebApplication1" which consumes a web service (service1.asmx) hosted on a machine with IP (128.1.7.x) . The web service is located in the intranet. The web methods can be invoked successfully if "WebApplication1" is located in machines with the same subnet (128.1.7.x). However, it fails if "WebApplication1" is hosted on

Hi, I am currently having a problem calling a web service that is secured using a digital certificate. I set up a Windows application to make a call to the service and it works fine. However when I make a call from my ASP.NET page it fails with "System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden". The code that I am using to make the call in both instances is: MyWebService myService = new MyWebService();

Yes, I've seen many posts about this type of error, and none of the solutions people applied worked for me. So please read this one carefully and help me if you can. I have a web service application installed in a Windows 2000 SP4 Domain control server. It is running IIS 5.0. I can access the WS from its own web page, and, when I access it from the server where it is installed, I can run its methods. However, I cannot access this WS...

hello, i am working on my first web service project. i am writing a webpage that consumes a ws from one of our partners, so i do not have access to the ws code itself. this partner uses certificates for security. the steps they gave me to access it are: 1) run wsdl.exe on the "webservice.wsdl" given to me 2) compile the resulting .CS proxy class into a .DLL assembly

Hi to all, I have a web service that is hosted on IIS 5.1. I have found that the web service works as expected but after about 20 mins of no calls to the web service, a call that worked earlier gives the error "Access forbidden 403". Any clues on why this is happening? Sham.

Using C# .Net V 1.1.4322, I am attempting to call some web services that will ONLY be consumed by our Winforms client application. I have my web service security working from the browser by following instructions from good resources like this: http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/Client-Certificate-Authenticat... I cannot successfully call the same web service from my C# application.

I am using a webservice client that was created from a WSDL file in .Net 1.1. The client ALWAYS works the first time I call it. The second call returns one of two exceptions. It either returns the error: A) The connection has been closed on a receive : Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
