we have some major GC issues at present with a system we're trying to
put live. It's a live calculation engine that's distributed across
about 30 Java server processes. A set of processes called
objectservers sit between the core infra and a Sybase DB. Two of the
main objectservers are set up with 2Gb Heaps as they need to cache
large amounts of objects and accept 500-600 incoming RMI connections

Hello,
I couldn't find an obvious answer to this in the FAQ. My basic question,
is: Is there any difference in allocating on the heap versus the stack? If
heap or stack implementation is not part of the standard, then just
disregard this question. Here's some questions I'm confused about, and if
you can add anything else, please do so!
Is the stack limited for each program?

inheritance heirarchy, is not a template, and only contains members of
integral types, then is it okay to allocate it off the heap? Is this

I'm running a Java application that uses a native C++ library I've
written. The Java application hits one of the native methods pretty
frequently (about 100 ms or so), and while it usually works fine,
sometimes the program crashes with an error message about the heap.
The method which seems to be causing the problem is very simple, and
does no manual manipulation of the heap. But it does use an iterator.
Could this be the issue?

He is talking about the heap and stack, he says you have 2types, value
wich are in the stack or inline or reference types wich are in the heap.
I don't get this what's heap stack and what's the main difference
between those 2types ?

Hi All:
I use db2 v8.1 fixpack 3 on AIX 5.1.
I used to get a memory heap error few months ago.
I sorted it out by setting the NUM_POOLAGENTS and MAXAGENTS equal.
Also there was an issue with the event monitor reaching max space
limits which was sorted out.
Now there is no issues with the parameters or the event monitor file
space but still i get the following error in my

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
