The following is a representative comment from the ACT! User Forum regarding
their newest version, 2005.
"I didn't say the product was fast enough...
I suspect most of those issues are related to .Net and if so, won't be able
to be fixed till the version after MS releases .Net V2"

I'm trying to get some control over the speed I'm sending out packets in a
networking application. Using UDP sockets, if I send at full speed, I
eventually have packets that never make it on the network, as it appears
that my sending mechanism is faster than the card can send, and somewhere
along the network layer chain, a buffer overflows and drops packets I'm

If I work on my app on my standalone, things are always fast.
If I have an non-split app on the network it runs fast.
If I split the app and have both the front end and backend on the
network the app's speed drops to a crawl.
If I split the app have and make sure the MDBs use file names 8 chars
and have a persistent link to the backend it's almost as fast has having
a non-split app on the network...we're talking almost a .1 to .5...
