Hello all:
What is wrong with my code? I want it to update the new text on the
textbox on every iteration of my loop. But instead the textbox updates
all info at the end of the loop. I also have to scroll down to see the
last entries. Once I get it to work the way I want is there a property
that will always keep that last entry visible? I mean, scroll down as
new data is displayed.
Here is mi code

I teach HS computers and one of my kids has a web site with a textbox of
info that the user can scroll down and read. The problem is that users can
also enter text into it. Is there a way, or a better control, method, to
prevent user from entering text?
Thanks,
Jim

I want to append text to the end of a text box. If the cursor is currently
at the end I just want to append it and have the normal scrolling take place
if needed.
However, if the selection isn't at the end of the text box I want to append
the text but WITHOUT changing the selection or scrolling the text.
I can easily tell if the selection is at the end or not.
However, I haven't found away to prevent the scrolling when I AppendText.

Curently I manualy code keypress edits. i.e. allow only 3 digits before
decimal and two digits after decimal in .NET.
Is there an easy solution to mask text boxes?
The MSMASK32.OCX from vb6 does not seem to be appropriate for a desktop
application with textboxes not bound to a dataset, am I wrong?

VB 2005 Express. I have a readonly multiline textbox with a vertical
scrollbar. I'm programatically adding text to it with
textbox1.appendtext(mytext) and it scrolls automatically. However, I
only want automatic scrolling when the thumb control is at the bottom
position. If the user scrolls up, I want it to hold its position as more
text is appended.
So basically I need to know:
1. How to detect if the scrollbar is at bottom position

Hey guys,
I have two questions regarding the vertical srollbar of a multiline textbox.
1. I have an "Ok" button that is initially disabled. I want it to be enabled
when the user scrolls the vertical scrollbar of a textbox all the way down
(indicating that the user at least pretended to read all of the textbox's
text). How can I monitor the scrollbar and know when it has reached the end?
2. My multiline textbox has VerticalScrollBar...

I have a .Net TextBox (TextBoxBase, really) in which I am appending about 20
lines of text per second. I use the AppendText() method to accomplish this.
This is a great substitute for taking the Text property and concatenating
it...
Me.tb.Text &= newText
' Instead use
Me.tb.AppendText(newText)
....ultimately setting the SelectionStart to the end of TextBox, the

Filtering user input is extremely important for web programming.
If input is left unfiltered users can input malicious code that can cripple your website.
This article will explain how to make sure that the user only submits a number to your .NET web application and also demonstrate how to add JavaScript to your ASPX pages. Upon popular demand, I have added a section that also covers how to use a validator control to check if a text box...

I have an Access database frontend linked via ODBC to a large
(gigabytes) mysql database.
I need to view a large amount of data in a a textbox (variable up to
300K), but I receive a 'there isnt enough memory' error whenever I
scroll past N number of bytes in a textbox that has been filled with a
lot of data. I am not sure what N is, but for a large chunk of data
it occurs at about the halfway scroll, and smaller chunks might not
throw...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
