If anyone is interested in testing these components goto http://www.vibrantinnovations.com/vibrantlayouttools.asp The Vibrant Layout Tools ActiveX component is a suite of tools that allow developers to create WYSWIG Layouts in a snap. The toolset allows developers to easily impliment object oriented rich visual layouts that can be saved in a structured developer defined (extension wise) file format that is similiar to MS Word and can...

Hi all, I'm looking for a set of tools that will allow me to run a simulation of a company database, with intelligent agents masquerading as database users and interacting in real-time. The system would preferably be based on the Oracle example schemas and should allow an unlimited number of concurrent agents to be running at the same time. I'm not looking for a load-testing tool, rather a configurable simulator. Any ideas ?

I am looking for the right tools to do application monitoring. I'm hoping to find one single tool that can do the entire job but if it does not exist then a few monitoring apps would do as well. I need the ability to do the standard things like testing for ping, checking for windows services running and restarting them after some

Hi, I support an enterprise web application (IE client) built in VB6, with about 200 classes, serving about 7000 users, running on 3 clustered servers. I need to incorporate web reporting for the first time, so I am interested in learning what web reporting options are out there, and the pros and cons of each. In general I need to generate reports with XML documents as inputs, and make them available to all web users. I am partial...

I am looking for a good solution on how to implement data access in an application so that there is a clean separation between the data access layer, the business layer and the GUI layer. I am looking for a robust solution for a major application. Almost every developer seems to come up with a completely different solution. While many of them are not bad, I really want a very good one. My database is SQL Server 2000 and I am using Visual...

I lead a large C++ development project (the open-source portion of which can be found here: <http://svn.cleversafe.org/dscore/>), and I'm interested in leveraging C++ "Program Analyzers" to detect problematic code and to help condition my development team to proactively avoid pitfalls that these tools hopefully expose. Does anyone have any product recommendations based upon their experience? More details:

Hello all, I'm looking for a very simple code analysis tool. I have a large codebase to analyze, and all I really need to do is to find all uses of all methods in a few interfaces. Many tools (e.g. Resharper) obviously do this internally, but I can't seem to find any that expose this simple functionality. Command line would be fine -- in fact I'd prefer that but its not necessary.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
