Converting Tiff To JPEG

Ron
I need to take a large Tiff file composed of several scanned pages and
convert it to several individual Jpegs. I guess I will have to write a
component myself, doing the conversion on the byte level, but first I need a
map of the byte layout for a Tiff file and the algorithm to do the
conversion (or convert to BMP first if necessary). Can anyone here point me
in the right direction?

This might not be the best place to ask, if anyone can give me any links or
information on how to do this (even a tip on where I might have better luck
asking) I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your help,

Ron

Hi all ! I have a multi-page Tiff image file that I want to convert to PDF. To do so I am using iText library. The conversion is working, but the code execution is very different according to wich iTextSharp.text.Image.getInstance(...) signature I am using : - using code 1 below, the conversion is fast enough but the resulting PDF file is too big (1 817ko sample Tiff file is converted in less than 30 seconds to a 2 764ko PDF file) -...

hi ng, I have a question concerning image processing in .NET: How can I open a jpeg with a tiff-header in c# (which means the file has the extension .tif, but contains jpeg-compressed data)? When I try to open the image the usual way, e.g.: Image img = Image.FromFile("thefilename.tif"), I get an error ("not enough memory"). This meaningful error message always comes up when .NET cannot deal with the Image format I think... Thanks,

I've seen once program which was able to convert any url to JPG file. Once I tried it on cnn.com website and it created the nice jpg, even that the page was scrollable, so it was not using printscreen or anything like that. Any idea how these things get done? K.

Hope it's not inappropriate to post this here. Could someone critique my code? I have no Python programmers in my office to show this to. The script works OK, but should I do it differently? I especially don't like how I check to see if jpegs exist. The style may not be acceptable to some, but I'm concerned with substance, not style. Is there a 'more appropriate' way to do this? Thanks to all who take the time to give advice!

Hey guys, As part of a college project I'm trying to write a script to convert TIFF images downloaded from the US patent office site, www.uspto.gov. The tiff images are encoded using CCITT Group 4 compression and appear to throw an error when i try to save them using the Image library: >>> im.save(outfile, "PDF)

Hello, we have an app that scans documents into TIFF format and we need to transfer them over the internet. If anyone knows of a SDK we can use that can compress TIFFs on the fly or even if it can compress them so they take up less space on the server, would be appreciated. Actually any info on handling tiff files programatically would be appreciated as I know very little about tiffs. TIA

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
