How to Localization .net application into Hebrew/Arabic langauge version?

target: Compare VS6 and VS.NET application, to find a easy way to set
dialog right to left.

1, VS6:

When localize a Win32 application into Hebrew version, I set the dialog and
other control's extend style "WS_EX_LAYOUTRT L". Program will create the
window as dialog template defined. So, it is very easy to localize win32
application into right-to-left reading language version.

2, VS.NET:

But I can't operate the dialog template of the DotNet program, I set the
form' "right to left" property "yes", but it is only affect the text and the
scroll bar. Is there a easy way to mirror the dialog? Am I must change the
code ? As a localization engineer, I can't get the source code except
resource package.

Thanks!

As a complement to Alan Flavell's page "I18n - text direction" http://ppewww.ph.gla.ac.uk/~flavell/charset/text-direction.html I've put together some examples in Arabic and Hebrew scripts to show the various constructs "in action": http://www.unics.uni-hannover.de/nhtcapri/bidirectional-text.html The "good ones" should display OK in Mozilla and IE 6.

Hi; I understand that HTMLDirectionality sets the direction for the <html> tag. But what about text within the page, especially text that is mixed (rtl and ltr)? Doesn't it need the <span dir='LTR'>...</span> for the ltr parts? And if so, how is this best done? -- thanks - dave

Hello, I was wondering, how is done for languages that read Top-Bottom or Right-to-Left? is there away around that or does it have to be a complete redesign? because as you know, all controls would have to be shifted either to Top-to-Bottom or starting from Right-To-Left? thanks

I have an ASP.NET application that was built in ASP.NET v1.1. It has a SQL Server back end database. I have been asked to provide an estimate for the level of effort required to produce a Chinese version of the application. I have read a bit about localization in .NET. However I have no experience with actually implementing localization. Can anyone out there provide some sort of idea as to how difficult or easy this may be? It...

Hi. I'm working in Access 2003 - standard English version - and am trying to write a program with a Hebrew user interface. Being that Hebrew is a right-to-left language, the orders of columns in a pulldown list, 'left' control position property, etc, are not easy to work with. 1. What do I need for a fully Hebrew version of Access. Do I need a Hebrew version, or is there something with which I can update my current A2003?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
