I'm attempting to put a C# front end on my unmanaged C++ ray tracer code.
It's still in experimental stage, as I have never done anything with
exporting types from an unmanaged dll through to a managed C# dll before.
Currently, I have an unmanaged dll, a managed C++ wrapper dll and a C# dll.
I have managed to get enough exported from the unmanaged code to get a
vaguely correct picture on the screen, however there is some odd behaviour.

Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to migrate a MSVC6 project to .NET... The straight
conversion (ie : unmanaged) was extremely straightforward. Now I'm trying to
compile and hopefully run the project as managed to estimate the kind of
performance difference there will be for the kind of applications we do
here.
The project is composed of a EXE and 5 different DLLs. One of these DLL is
unmanaged (VC6) and can hopefully stay that way...

I'm trying to create a hybrid Managed/unmanaged C++ DLL that uses ATL
and wraps some of DirectShow.
When I add a reference to that Managed C++ DLL in another managed
project, I end up "polluting" my namespaces will all sorts of
unmanaged stuff I didn't want the DLL to export.
For instance, there is an ATL namespace that contains things like
CComPtr<IBaseFilter>. And in the root namespace, I am exporting
things like _AMMediaType and...

Hi
All the information I had read suggested that if you had an existing C
project that you wished to change to managed code all you had to do was use
the /clr switch and then over time you could convert/add managed code bit by
bit.
I have done this on my large C project and all compiles and links OK. So far
so good.

Greetings!
I found myself with a LNK2020 linking problem using VS.NET 2003 under a
situation that I was able to replicate in a small project.
I found one workaround for the problem too, but it's ugly and sure things
shouldn't be like that. I'd like to know if that's a conceptual mistake by
me, a compiler error, both, or none of them! ;-)

using the Beta 2 of VS 2005 I've encontered the following problem.
Let's assume threre are three Dll's, one unmanaged and two managed. In the
unmanaged we put a simple unmanged struct "A" which is exported in the usual

I am writing some C++ classes and want to export them as .dll files so
other users can import them and use the methods I have provided in
those classes. I have two types of classes : unmanaged (or regular
classes) and managed (__gc classes). I already know how to use
"__declspec(dllexport)" to export and "__declspec(dllimport)" to import
"unmanaged" classes. However I dont know how to export "managed"

Hi,
I have a MC++dll, whose functions i want to use in unmanaged c++. I
read that one of the ways to use the managed functions in unmanaged
world is by exposing the managed api as flat api.
I tried that and with simple data types it worked. But now i need to
export a function which needs to take a gc struct as parameter, and
then fill some values in it, and then the unmanaged c++ will use that
info.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
