Online Chat: Visual C++ 2005 Library and Runtime Enhancements

The next release of Visual C++ includes many new and enhanced libraries
which improve security, support managed code and integrate existing
applications and components. The CRT and STL fully support managed
applications. There is a new secure CRT and STL that offer safe interfaces
to familiar functionality. The managed support library provides conveniences
such as lock patterns, COM interface wrapping and type marshaling templates.
MFC has new support for integration with .NET Windows Forms to enable
incremental migration of existing UI to incorporate .NET controls and forms.
Bring your questions about new and existing application development to find
out more on the next generation of libraries in Visual C++.

Online Chat: Upgrading COM Applications to .NET with Visual C++ 2005 Many applications consume and expose COM interfaces as their object models today. And .NET has tools such as tlbimp, tlbexp and COM Interop support for RCWs and CCWs to help integrate managed code with COM objects. In addition, there are also a number of options in C++ unavailable to other languages such as C# or VB. Some mechanisms are simpler to code, while others...

I'm using Visual Studio, with ASP.NET. Is VSS on a separate CD. Also, is it possible to use the VSS beta (2005) with .NET if I'm not using the .NET beta. And finally, where do I get the VSS beta... when I go to msdn, it just directs me to a page with Whidbey downloads.... nothing mentioned on VSS TY Jason Shohet

Error message: "The application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Basically, I recently purchased a game programming book, and was trying to follow along. The book uses the Allegro game library, and I was trying to configure a Visual C++ 8.0 project to compile and link to the library. First, I installed Allegro 4.2 by copying the lib and include folders to the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
