converting from the managed to the unmanaged world (and viceversa strings)
and byte arrays is something I do often and I'd like to identify the most
correct and efficient way to do it.
Also, I was wondering could there be issues in not making copies when
converting??? I was thinking, when "pointing" to the same data with both
managed and unmanaged strings/arrays couldn't there be issues such as the

(non-Unicode). It support English German Hungarian so far, which has been

I use this function that I wrote for inputting strings. It's meant to
return a pointer to mallocated memory holding one input string, or 0 on
error. (Personally, I prefer to use 0 to NULL when returning null
pointers.) It looks pretty watertight to me, but my version of lint
complains about use of deallocated pointers, etc. Is this code
completely safe on all input, or have I missed something?

old so the new string methods won't work. Anyways, first I'm trying to

I have several interfaces in CLI that I access via c#. My problem is,
is that down in the unmanaged c++, which the CLI lies on top of, I
have a lot of c_str() happening. But all of my methods in CLI return
System::String^. I originally just gcnew'd System::String^ passing in
the c_str(). But I can't really have as many gcnew's as I'm using for
overhead and for fear of leaks.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
