I started making up a Python extension module to wrap a C++ library of
mine using Boost Python. Trouble is, the library has a number of
classes each of which has a lot of methods. I seem to have hit an
internal limit in the Visual C++ 7 compiler.
The output I get is...

....found 2031 targets...
....updating 4 targets...

when attempting to edit code in a class file, i see the bug "Visual Basic

has anyone seen this bug and can you confirm one way or the other whether or
not it can corrupt your source files? (by 'corrupt' i mean: do anything to
it that will cause it to fail to load and...

When compiling a VB.NET assembly we reguarly have the problem where it
either hangs or produces the following error:
-----
Visual Basic .NET compiler is unable to recover from the following error:
System Error &Hc0000005& (Visual Basic internal compiler error)
Save your work and restart Visual Studio .NET.
----
On the same codebase it will sometimes work and sometimes not. Very Bizarre.

During the last weeks I've trying to port boost::python 1.23 to work
with Visual C++ 7.1. I had some headaches while doing so because VC++
7.1 supports Koenig lookup and previous ones doesn't support it (and
aparently boost::python 1.23 was not written with Koenig support in
mind).
While doing so I faced an ICF.. which I can reproduce with the code
that follows. Does anybode know if this is fixed somehow ?.
I'm not sure if the call to...

Consider the following line of code (it's not important what it does):
resp.DocItem=Relations.SelectDocItems_BySearchString(req.SearchPhrase);
It turns out that this line is in error. The property 'DocItem' should be
'DocItems.' The problem is that instead of notifying me of where the problem
has occurred, the compiler just crashes with an "internal error" (see bottom
of this message). Now if I were to write:

I get the following message when compiling or by background compile:
Visual Basic .NET compiler is unable to recover from the following
error: System Error &Hc0000005& (Visual Basic internal compiler error)
Save your work and restart Visual Studio .NET.
I have browsed for this issue and there are several reports on this.
One claim that there is a kb article on this that asks to call MS for
a patch. But no link to that article works.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
