I have the following code:
def IntToRandFloat(x):
"""Given a 32-bit integer, return a float in """
x = int(x)
x = int(x << 13) ^ x
return (1.0-((x*(x*x*15731+789221)+1376312589)&0x7fffffff)/1073741824.0)
Basically it's a function directly copied from a C implementation. Now

Hi,
Sorry to repost, but this is becoming aggravating, and causing me a lot of
wasted time. I've got a reasonably large mixed C++ project, and after a
number of builds (but not a constant number) linking (and sometimes
compiling) becomes immensely slow, and task manager shows that link.exe (or
cl.exe) is barely using any processor time, but an awful lot of RAM (around
150-200MB). I'm going to keep an eye on page faults since I can't...

Hi.
I'm stuck using a very old c++ compiler, and I'm trying to figure out how to
add a declaration so that an algorithm can be used. This is really a compiler
specific problem, however I was hoping someone could suggest the proper
declaration to put in place to solve it.
If someone can suggest a solution I'd really appreciate it.
Here is the scenario:

Hi,
I'm trying to find the best way to work with compiler warnings. I'd
like to remove *all* warnings from the code, and playing around with
the warning level, I've noticed that compiling with /W3 I get warnings
that with /W4 are shown as remarks, e.g.:
warning #177: variable "Foo" was declared but never referenced
....is displayed as a "remark #177" with /W4. That doesn't fit the

Hi guys,
I am a beginner for QT, and I installed the free qt 2.3 under windows
(XP), as well as the MS's free VC expression edition (for their
compilers, linkers, etc), and the SDK tool.
My first qt program is simple: the first demo which comes with the qt
2.3 installation. The only one code file is: main.cpp, and it is:
#include <qapplication.h>
#include <qpushbutton.h>

I'm having an odd problem in Firefox 2.0.0.8. You can see the problem on
this page: http://sfl.london.on.ca/links_groups.shtml.
If you click on any of the three horizontal tabs, nothing happens UNLESS the
mouse is right at the very top edge of the tab. You know you're in the right
place when the status line at the bottom of the browser shows the address of
the link.
What would make the link fire from several pixels ABOVE the actual...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
