Hello..
I am working on a PHP/PEAR web page that shows statistics of how many
people read a certain article during given period of time.
I have, say, two tables called 'books' and 'logs'. The 'books' table
has fields named 'bookNo', 'bookName', and so on, and 'logs' table has
fields named 'bookNo', and 'time'. Whenever somebody accesses a book,
I insert a row to the 'logs' table with 'INSERT INTO logs VALUES ($no,
NOW());'

I'm getting segmentation faults when trying to fix a memory leak in my
program. The problem is related to lists of pointers which get passed
around between objects.
Here is a description of how the code works:
I have a stack consisting of nodes and arguments, much like a function
execution stack. In this example there are only three nodes on the
stack. For each run through the loop, a copy of the current sensation is
written to the...

Okay, same program, different issue. Thanks to the help that I was
given I was able to complete my program to find variables in a list that
were repeated, and display them once, and how many times they appeared in
the list. And it worked great!
But, being the perfectionist that I am, I wanted to make the proggie
allow any size of list, and not have to be recoded every time. So step
one was to not make the program reliant on the list...

Hi folks,
Just wondered if, for the sake of clarity, it is permissible to post
small image files of an error box along with a text message about a
problem with Access?

They usually don't teach you in most textbooks I've seen that
delegates can be used to call class methods from classes that are
'unaware' of the delegate, so long as the class has the same signature
for the method (i.e., as below, int Square (int)).
Here is an example to show that feature. Note class "UnAwareClass"
has its methods Square and Cuber called by a class DelegateClass.
This is because these methods in UnAwareClass have the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
