I want to authorise a user of a web service by using the AuthHeaderValue for
some reason I keep getting a null reference exception when I try to run the
following code: It seems to work fine on a .NET Framework application, but
just not on the .NET CF version.
Can anyone suggest anything that might be wrong with the code? (I could
post the app and webservice, but i was hoping that you might have noticed
something from the supplied...

Howdy All,
I've been having a bit of a problem that I can't seem to get a grip on
at the moment and I'm hoping someone may be able to give me a quick
hand :)
What I have is a Webservice that references an EXE file sitting in
c:\windows\system32\ . Now if I use a Windows App and access the
webservice everything goes smoothly.

I'm trying to use a Web Service to be a Remoting client of an existing
..NET 2.0 server. But I get the following error when I try to use
System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Http in my WebService. The same code
works fine in a standalone app. I have inspected
System.Runtime.Remoting.dll with ildasm, and I can see the
....Channels.Http namespace there. I verified that the virtual
directory is configured to use v2.0.50727 (the error message...

Hi,
Scenario:
The webservice was developed on windows 2000 Pro and deployed previously on windows XP pro for testing. We have tested for many days. The client for that service was 30+ and accessing the webservice each min. It was working 100% fine.
Problem:
But now in actual deployment, we have deployed webservice in Win Server 2003 and we have used all the default configurations. Now the clients are accessing that service the same way...

Hi,
I am trying to call a webservice from a windows service application. It
works only if I launch the windows service app from VS.Net 2005 (Worked
around from Main()) or from a winform test application. However, it
generates a kind of security error after I install and start the service in
my Window Server machine. I believe that it is related to authentication.
The following is the sample code:
HttpWebRequest obj =...

Hi,
I'd like to my WCF webservice to work both on SSL and without. Unfortunately searching has
led to dead ends, references to changes that only work on the old previous beta versions and
I admit I am rather confused and frustrated.
That being said, I'd like some direction in how exactly I'm supposed to accomplish this.
Thanks very much,
JK

Our WebDev team seems to have found a problem that exposes a bug in .NET 2.0.
This problem can be shown when trying to access a WebService using SSL and
through a proxy server after using the HttpWebRequest object.
Under normal circumstances I am able to use the webservice without any
problems. But after using an HttpWebRequest object to make a call to a
website
all subsequent attempts to use the WebService will fail with a 401...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
