'\0' at end of string causes serialization error

I'm trying to use a RichTextBox in a winforms application which communicates
with a database via webservices. However when I try to pass the
RichTextBox.Rtf property to the WebMethod, I get a serialization error caused
by the '\0' which is automatically appended to the string. I have tried to
store the string as RichTextBox.Rtf .Replace("\\0", "") but it doesnt seem to
work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, We have problems deseralizing objects previously serialized as XML. This did work fine with .NET 1.1 but since we have installed SP1, deserializing fails (but serializing works). The error occurs within the following line "return formatter.Deserialize(xmlReader) as ParameterList;" and the "innerexception" sais "The root element is missing.". Thanks for any hints

Had a method that got some string info from mp3 tags in N files and serializes this class and deserializes at other side. Works ok except sometimes get chars that choke the XmlSerializer. After some digging, I found XmlSerializer chokes on 0x03 chars. It probably chokes on many others, but this one I found. It serializes ok, but chokes on deserialize on "<Field1></Field1>". So the questions are: 1) Why does serializer produce...

Hi! I'm working with a C# client that calls a php web service. I've created a wrapper to call the service using .NET wsdl tool (adding a web reference). The call to the server works fine, it is serialized correctly, and the server returns a response (I've captured the response and it's correct!) but when the .NET deserialize this response, it throws the exception "System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML

How can I allow someone to cast my C# class into System.String? Is it possible in C#? In C++ I used "operator" keyword to mark C++ member function.

I know I wrote before a week ago when I knew even less than now but I am getting better please anyone give me a clue or an example. Am I completely off track? Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
