403.1 Forbidden: Execute Access Forbidden

Trying to install a .NET application on a Windows 2003 Server ( .NET v1.1)
and for any .
aspx file get the following error:

403.1 Forbidden: Execute Access Forbidden

The application has worked fine on XP systems and multiple Windows 2000
servers. This is what I have tried so far:

-Verified Execute Permissions on both Default Web Site and the application's
Virtual Directory is set to "Scripts Only"
-Confirmed that the DefaultApplicat ionPool is been used, which is processed
under NT Authority/Network Server and that this service is in the IIS_WPG
group.
-Verified that the IIS_WPG has Read/Scripts access to the application's
Virutal Directory
-Verified that .aspx is an allowed extension and is pointing to the correct
aspnet_isapi.dl l
-Verified the ASP.NET is an allowed Web Service Extension
-Re-installed .NET Framework using aspnet_regiis -i

..HTML files work fine, the error is related only to .ASPX files. Any
suggestions out there? Thanks

This seems to be a recurring problem and I don't know what I would do if I could not find the answere searching Google/Groups/Comp. Several times I have had this problem were I cannot create a new ASP Web project. The first time it occured I did as instructed uninstalled IIS and then reinstalled. I then executed aspnet_regiis /i and I was able to work. Sometime later after the installation I received several intrusions from nasty...

I have two computers. Both computers have Windows 2003 installed as well as Visual Studio.Net 2003 installed. Computer A has active directory set and also has .Net and the webservice called WebserviceTest with a method called Service1 that only returns the string "Hello World". I have enabled Anonymous Access and have a user called ASPNET set up with normal permissions for this user.

Hi all, When creating a virtual directory in IIS 5.0 win xp Pro with the name like "abc.com", an error HTTP 403.1 Forbidden: Execute Access Forbidden will return when accessing the web page. But, this will work fine if the virtual directory is named in "abc.com.sg" or others. Why it can't be created with the name "xxxxxx.com"?? Thanks & Best Regards, Edward

I'm getting the error "HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied" when I try to reach my ASPX pages. Before I go giving Windows permissions to my docroot, etc., I want to understand what users or, preferably, groups, need to have what permissions for basic operation of ASP.NET 2.0. And specifically WHAT permissions should I give these users?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
