Default assemblies and CorBindToRuntim eEx

I've got a couple of things I'm not sure in my mind about as far as the
options to CorBindToRuntim eEx go:
1. Is the default option for Windows Forms is
STARTUP_LOADER_ OPTIMIZATION_MU LTI_DOMAIN_HOST ?
2. If I start the default domain using
STARTUP_LOADER_ OPTIMIZATION_MU LTI_DOMAIN_HOST , create a child AppDomain
using LoaderOptimizat ion.MultiDomain , and then load a non-strong named
assembly into the Child Domain, does it get loaded domain-neutral?
3. If I start an AppDomain using LoaderOptimizat ion.NotSpecifie d, does it
inherit it's Loader Optimization settings from the creating AppDomain, or
the entry-point AppDomain?

Hi, After adding large number of empty resource files (which will be updated later), we are not able to compile the project. the following is the output of the build process. It fails while compiling the Max.UI.Win project with the following error Satellite assemblies could not be built because the main project output is missing.

Is it at all possible to leverage mixed-mode assemblies from AppDomains other than the default AppDomain? Is there any means at all of doing this? Mixed-mode is incredibly convenient, but if I cannot load/unload/reload extensions into my large and slow-to-load application during development without restarting the process then the disadvantages may outweigh the advantages. I've got a mixed-mode program in which I create a new AppDomain...

Hi, I am using ‘CorBindToRuntimeEx’ To create a runtime host and execute an assembly: hr = CorBindToRuntimeEx(. . .) hr = spICorRuntimeHost->CurrentDomain(&spUnk); spIAppDomain = spUnk; spIAssembly = spIAppDomain->Load_3(saRawPEImage); .. . . spIAssembly->EntryPoint->Invoke_3(vtMissing, saParameters);

Environment: VS.Net 2003 FW 1.1 VB.Net I have an application that uses reflection to load external assemblies. The external assemblies reside in the same folder as the application exe. When I run the application as a normal windows application, the external assemblies are loaded just fine. When I run the application as a windows service, the application expects the assemblies to be in the windows\system32 directory. How can I change...

Hi, I 've created a shim dll in VC++ that wraps a .NET assembly AddIn for Excel. The AddIn works fine on my system but throws an error when I install it on a fresh machine with .NET Framework 2.0 and MSXML 6.0. I get HRESULT 0x80131700 when I try to call CorBindToRuntimeEx() to load the .NET Runtime from inside the shim dll. Any ideas about software or updates that I have to install ?

I'm confused about whether a web application needs to be defined in IIS as an "application" to run. We have a client who has a medium sized web site (~2,000 pages), including some ASP and some aspx pages. These were developed by different developers over the past several years. What I don't understand is that some of the aspx pages compile and run fine, but they are not in a virtual directory or in a folder that's conifgured as an...

Hi I'm trying to achieve a scenario where I have c# files that are compiled dynamically, the assemblies are then loaded in a different AppDomain, I call a simple method from the object, and then unload the AppDomain to release the lock on the assemly files (so to I can compile the code again if it has been modified). However, I've encountered a problem, whereby the assembly is also loaded in the default AppDomain! I have a few classes...

Hi all, I'm getting unexpected results when trying to preload assemblies into an AppDomain I'm creating. Upon creation of the AppDomain - I attach an AssemblyResolve to both my current AppDomain and the new AppDomain I create. I copy all the assemblies/dlls into a new directory and then try loading them all into the new AppDomain using the following: private void LoadAssembliesFromDirectory(AppDomain appDomain, string directory)

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
