UML modelling tool in VS2k3 that's not Visio?

Is there a UML modelling tool/addin for VS2k3 that's not Visio? I am hoping
to be able to find something like Borland's Together Designer for Visual
Studio, but that is done in C#, not java! :>

Thanks.

You might like to look at Rational (IBM) Rose, and XDE. There is also
Enterprise Architect from Sparx Systems.

I started with Rose, but now use EA. The latter is much better priced, and
every bit as good (and probably better) than Rose.

Thanks for the info! :> I do believe the EA one is done in java though?
Any ideas?

I am not sure what you mean by "done" in Java. If you are referring to code
generation, then EA can generate C#, VB, VB.NET, C++, Delphi and Java.

Sorry, I meant the tool itself being written in java. I'm trying to move
away from java entirely. I tried Borland's Together last night (written in
java IMHO) and on my 2Ghz box, I found it ran dreadfully slow! :< I mean
with that kind of box with 1GB of ram, I would expect it to be able to keep
up to Visual Studio, but it wasn't. Also, I would like to be able to just
move past "everything java." Maybe a difficult goal, but one I'm striving
for. :>

I do java during the day, and MAN is it frustrating. Just the reliability,
performance issues are kill'n me! :<

I don't know what it is written in; there's nothing particular that makes me
think that it is written in Java, but of course it might be.

With regard to speed, I haven't had any problems myself.

Hi, I'm new to DB2 and I'll be doing some data modelling for a UDB 8.1 database. I'll need a data modelling tool that is capable of generating DDL. Does IBM provide such a tool? Is there a cost? Ideally it would support the XML datatypes used by the DB2 XML Extender (not an absolute requirement though). Thanks in advance ... Steve

hi, Although it is not direcltly relevant to .NET but i would like the expert views. Until now we did not have a formal requirments capture tool and UML diagramming tool. But our projects are getting bigger and we are thinking of buying one. For requirment capture we looked at IBM's Requisite Pro. and for Modelling we looked at IBM...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
