Extracting data from a field within a dataset

I've created a dataset from a stored procedure. I want to extract data from

I was curious to know what some developers out in the industry are doing when it comes to exposing Data access logic, specifically persistence. This is assuming that your not using an O/R framework or something that completely abstracts you from the persistence details. Are you: 1. Having simple data type interfaces and the data layer know nothing about the domain models. For example: public int SaveCustomer( string fname, string...

Is it possible to reference the dataset of a sqldatasource from code? I've looked at the properties for the sqldatasource but don't see anything obvious. In particular, I have a bit field in the dataset that identifies if the user is permitted to make changes to the record. I have what I term "system defined items" for lookup purposes and these can never be changed even by the administrator. I would normally display a bit field as a...

Hello everyone, First I'll address this as a textfile manipulation question and if there is no answer there, then I'll need to ask it as a vb ADO question. I have a text file that I'm reading into a dataset, then looping thru the dataset and storing the field values to vars and then doing an 'INSERT INTO' an SQL Server table.

I have a web app that I have been working on for the last couple of weeks trying to solve this problem. One page contains a GridView with four base columns, and an unknown number of columns to be added depending on the data source chosen. I create some TemplateColumns based on the data returned for the selection, and add them into the GridView using the following code: DataSet dsTraits = ssql_common.selectRubricTraits(sConnectionString,...

Hey Guys, Total Number of Records (Based on 5 fields): 1000 Total Unique Records (Based on 5 Fields): 990 Total number of fields: 5 I have question regarding extracting duplicates from the dataset. I have 2 fields that makes a record unique. I have used group by function to find duplicates and got 10 records that are duplicating. Each records duplicating 1 times, thus, 10 unique records and 10

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
