Accessing controls on the ComponentTray

It seems that controls that are in a form's ComponentTray (e.g. ToolTip,
ErrorProvider) don't appear on its list of controls (FormName.Contr ols). Is
there any way I can get hold of them?

Hi,

"Controls" in component tray are components :). Try with components variable
that is in your form class (private System.Componen tModel.IContain er
components).

Thanks for the advice, Peter, but I'm not too sure how I should go about
this. To get the controls, I would use:

For Each c as Control in myForm.Controls

What would I use to get at these components?

Thanks,

You can use components.Comp onents to get ComponentCollec tion and you can go
through each component.

Thanks, Peter - that seems to do it.

I'd found another way (using reflection), but this seems simpler.

Thanks again,

Is there a way to access controls (and their properties) in a user control? The Web Form Designer marks controls as 'Protected' which makes them inaccessable from the host form. If I mark them as Public, I can access them, but the next time the controls are manipulated in the design mode, they are converted back to Protected. Is there an obvious/easy way around this? Thanks.

I have a problem with accessing controls that I have loaded dynamically and added to a web page. The scenario: I have a webpage that displays multiple instances of a user control on the page. The number of controls that are displayed can be adjusted by the user so the controls are added to the page dynamically using the following code in the Page_Init event handler: For i as Integer = 1 to NumberOfControls

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
