datagrid update issue

Hi,I am trying to update a datagrid of a web page but I am having the
problems. I am using the sqldataadapter and dataset to bind it to a
datagrid. The web page shows a list of people(the datagrid data) on a
certain class and the director will need to approve them. I have a bit
datatype field called "approved" on the database and the checkbox on
the webpage showing the field "approved" value. The director will
check the checkbox to approve the list of the people. After the
director check the names, there is a confirmation button and then the
changes will be updated to the database including whether they are
approved and also who approved them and the approved time.

I dont have problems showing the correct data to the web page. But I
am not able to update the datagrid. First, how can one button outside
the datagrid will take care of the dataset changes? Also how can I
update the who approved them and approved time since these values are
not showing on the dataset? I have been trying to read many tutorials
but couldn't find the right answer. Can anyone help me with this?

Much appreciated!

Ammi

I need some help programmatically causing a row in a DataGrid to "flush" its contents to its bound data (in Visual Studio 6 using Windows Forms with C#). My issue is I want to send an update to a database from a menu command while the user is editing a DataGrid. This is unusual in regard to examples and normal practice in that the cell of the DataGrid still has the focus. In all examples I can find, the user normally presses a button on...

After clicking btnDeleteSize_Click in frmSize, I move to frmSizeDelete, allow deleting a Size using a datagrid, and then return to frmSize and want to update the datagrid in frmSize to reflect the deletion. I can't figure out how to get the datagrid in frmSize updated, although the datagrid in frmSizeDelete shows the deletion properly. In frmSizeDelete the size is properly deleted when the user clicks the row in the datagrid and presses...

I have a DataGrid web control which I've dynamically populated with template columns to be used for bulk-editting. Generally, all of the columns are textbox and/or dropdownlist child controls. Currently everything is working. I can find the updated rows/columns by parsing the posted data collection against the DataGrid DataSource. However, when there is a large amount of DataGridItems (rows) the update processing can take a while. ...

Based upon some prevoius postings on what to do for adding a 'add' row to a datagrid I utilize the footer to create the 'add' row. The only issue is that I have it sharing the 'UpDate_Command' and I use an argument to difference between an 'edit' vs. and 'add. But since I have field validation on both 'footer' and 'edit' columns I can't submit my edits since the footer validation kicks in.If I take the validation off then the both work fine...

Although the cancel and the Edit Commmand are getting fired properly. The One difference I have seen is that in the task bar ..on hovering on the link the javascript for the update link seems different. I dont know if it makes sense..

I am having some issues with a runtime dropdownlist in a datagrid. The issue is that I cannot get ViewState to fill the selected index of a runtime dropdown properly on postback. I do not want to use template columns as they seem to be a little difficult to create at runtime. Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated. private void DataGrid1_ItemDataBound(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridItemEventArgs e) { if...

I have a web page writen in ASP.NET that contains some javascript so that when a user presses a button, or edits a certain field in a datagrid, another cell in the datagrid is filled with a value. My probelm.... when I have the user press the update button (which does a post back that loops through the datagrid and updates a database) the field/cell that is filled by the javascript appears to be blank in my update code, even though I can...

A Form has a DataGrid which displays records from a SQL Server 2005 DB table. Users can modify the records using this DataGrid for which I am using EditCommandColumn in the DataGrid. This is the code: <script runat="server"> Dim sqlConn As New SqlConnection(".....") Sub Page_Load(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal ea As EventArgs) If Not (Page.IsPostBack) Then FillDataGrid()

I don't care how one suggests I do it, but I've been searching for days on how to implement this concept. I'm trying to use some kind of grid control (doesn't have to be a grid control, whatever works best) to display a dropdown menu of fields populated from table tblInvoiceData. This control also includes a textbox which the user can input a value. These two columns are side by side and not in a vertical layout. The user then clicks on...

Hi, I am building a small Help Desk application for my company and need to be able to edit "open" help desk issues. I use a simple datagrid to display each issue (6 per page) , with an Edit button. There are a lot of fields across, and my Network Admins would like a way of editing/updating each issue seperately in a a vertical form. I need a way of clicking on the edit button ,bringing up a form with the record, editng the fields, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
