EXCEL process doesn't close

Hi everyone,

I have a very strange problem.

If I open a .NET application from EXCEL using SHELL function, when I close
EXCEL, the EXCEL.EXE process remain active and I must close it by Task
manager.

If I open a normal application (I.E. Notepad.exe) in the same manner, I have
no problem.

Can somebody answer this question ?

You can try to run Excel using the automation libraries provided by MSFT. You
run Excel using the ApplicationClas s. To close the application you can use
the Quit method

Hi Alex,

The problem is not run EXCEL from a .NET application, but run a .NET
application from EXCEL.

If I run a .NET application from EXCEL and then I close it, if I close
EXCEL, EXCEL UI quit, but EXCEL.EXE remain active, and I must close it by
Task manager!

It's very strange behaviour...

Hi All, I have a VB.NET app that, among other things, writes data to Excel. I am having trouble getting the Excel process to terminate after I quit Excel. The excel workbook, worksheets, and all of the cells are properly formatted when Excel

Hi, I'm trying to automate the creation of an excel file via COM. I copied my code below. I read many articles about how to release the COM objects that I create. The code below runs just fine and excel is closed. But there are some commented lines: //xlSeries.XValues = xlWs.get_Range("B2", "B4"); // makes com objects, but which...

I have a python script that is driving Excel and using the win32com module. However, upon program completion there's still an Excel.exe process running in the background that I must terminate through Task Manager. Reading up on other threads indicate that maybe I still have some Excel objects referenced within my code. Is this why the process doesn't terminate? The related (I hope) parts of my code is here. x1App =...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
