UIPAB - priming a task with initial context

I am developing an application to serve a specific use case and want to use
the UIPAB in the implementation. When this application is launched there is
contextual information identified by a key. Does anyone have any ideas on
how I can communicate this key to the application?

One way of doing this is by linking UIPAB tasks but this fails as a strategy
because the application may be invoked by another which has determined and
created the context and over which I cannot assume any control.

At the moment I am left with the idea of creating a new overload to the
StartNavigation Task with a further parameter to communicate this context id.
Any thoughts on the merits and perils of that as an approach would also be
appreciated

TIA

I keep losing session state when I store UIPAB state in the SessionStateObject. The asp.net session state object itself stores it's state in SQL server, I'm using cookieless session state. This strange behavior occurs in a load balanced environment consisting of 2 web servers. The next part is taken from the web.config file: <sessionState

Hi We are developing a trading application in C# using the UIPAB. In this application it should be possible to set up different workspaces with a number of windows. The user should be able to save and load his workspaces. A workspace should describe position of windows, color of text etc. The workspace should be described in XML. Where in the UIPAB do you suggest we place this workspace management? Is it a part of the view or of the model?...

I've just started a workspace at GotDotNet which has a very simple asp.net app written in VB.NET. It demonstrates navigation between pages using the UIPAB. Come on over to my new workspace for a simple ASP.NET/VB.NET sample using the UIPAB. http://www.gotdotnet.com/Community/Workspaces/workspace.aspx?id=a9ab4d8d-6a35-456e-b70d-0e40cbbae8d5 Discussion newsgroup there and it'll be active.

I have been looking over the UIPAB and how you can use it in ASP.Net. It seems like, at least from the article that I read, that there really isn't a Model in this architecture, even though they are saying that they are implementing MVC. e.g. In the example the view needs to populate a textfield, and it does so by: txtMyText.text = MyController.MyText Basically querying a property of the controller. Is there no Model in

I've developed a sample web app using UIPAB v2.0 on my dev machine (XP) but when i deploy it to my test server (win2k3 server) i just get a "page cannot be displayed" error when I try to initiate any Tasks. (although i can navigate to pages that are not UIPAB views without difficulty) I've seen this question elsewhere, but never answered.

How do you run a long running task in ASP.NET in thread and avoid multiple instances of this task from running? I saw a solution somewhere but do you have a better one? publicvoid StartTask1() {

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
