Best practise: dataset and many to many relations

What is the approach to save data for tables with a many to many
relation usign an intermediate table?
I know I can explictily write relationships using ado.net but I have
no clues how to INSERT/UPDATE the intermediate table.
May you help?
Thanks,

Daniele

Hi All, I'm New to VS.net. Trying to figure out this new dataset thingy. Ok so I add a dataadapter with all the correct properties for a table. Then generate the dataset. Now open the dataset and drag another table from the server explorer, set up some relations there. Set up two grids, one a s a parent one as a chgild. Fill the dataset, run the form But my child grid never gets any records. I then added another datadapter for the child...

I am rebuilding an existing application that relies on an SQL DB. The app is a scheduling/employee management program. My question pertains to best practices in dotnet and database. I use a 3 tier model and have custom classes for things like Employees. What comes to question is when I load an Employee from my DB, I populate the properties of the object with the data in the dataset. When I want to view the employee on a form, i bind...

I have a DataSet with relations and other constraints being populated from the backend (SQL Server 2005). I use DataSet.FillSchema to retrieve the table schema for each table in the dataset. I then create the appropriate relations between the tables. I will use a webmethod with a return type of either XmlNode or DataSet to return the data and the schema? Each call to the webmethod will return the data and the schema. Question: ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
