Can not install VS.Net 2003

Dear Sir,

When I install VS.Net 2003 from CD1, I always get a message says: "Setup has detected that another program requires the computer to reboot. You must reboot the computer before installing Visual Studio .Net Prerequisites." after i clicked "Visual Studio .NET Prerequisites". I tried to click the "OK" button to reboot my machine but that doesn't help.

Could anyone shed me some light on how to workaround this? Than you

The installer will use a feature of the OS that allows it to place files "in
limbo" until a reboot, where the OS will copy the new files over the top of
other files that could not be modified while the system was running.

You installed another app, which placed files in this area. You need to
reboot to complete the prior installation. (a normal reboot will work).
Then, this area will be empty, and the new install should work.

Good Luck,
--- Nick

After installing Office 2003 PRO and attempting to run SETUP to install the Visual Studio Tools for Office version 2003, I get the error message "Your computer must have Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 installed before you can install Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System.". I suspected that something was wrong with my installation of VS.net 2003 Professional. I was having problems in my debugger. I decided to do a repair or update. The original install of VS was done on a DVD labeled May 2003 from MSDN. Subsequently I have received newer DVDs from MSDN with VS.net 2003 professional on it. The latest is a yellow DVD, Disc 2431.1 (Dec 2003). I used this DVD. I went in and selected update/Repair...

I used to have Visual Basic .net std. 2003 installed on WinXP SP1A. But I found it too hard to upgrade WinXP to SP2. Now, I do have WinXP SP2 installed, but I am having problems installing Visual Basic .net standard 2003. Not installing Visual Basic at the WinXP SP1A level - was the only way I found that I could install WinXPSP2. My computer was purchased with WinXP SP1 Professional. I also have Norton Internet Security and Norton...

I hope this is in the correct newsgroup. I have purchased and installed Visual Studio .Net 2003 under XP Professional. However, when I try to look at a VB.net sample web app, it will not open. I seem to be missing IIS or ASP.Net, but most likely both. Some research (has left me confused) but I think these are both available with Windows Server 2003 standard edition, a CD of which came with Visual Studio. First, do I really need to...

Last night took the plunge and upgraded to Office 2003 pro, and told it to get rid of 2000. Realized too late that some programs (such as FMS Develper Suite) do not yet include the components to work with 2003 version-single compnent ugrades are just too expensive. Speed Ferret has not yet released a new version to work with Access 2003. So I need to have Access 2000 back. Can someone please advise? Can I install only Access 2000 in a...

I've created a web setup project that works great for installing an ASP.NET application to a virtual directory on a server. I'd like to be able to use the same setup program to install multiple instances - e.g., DEV, TEST, etc., as I see fit. However, when once instance has already been installed, the web setup project will not install further instances; instead, I get a message that it has already been installed and I must use Control...

I created the websetup and built the MSI, have the bundled version. Copied to webserver and ran Websetup.msi. Said I had to remove old version, which I did, then reran WebSetup.msi and keeps giving me this error. "The installer was interrupted...

We've been creating "silent install" packages using visual studio 2003 and vb.net for quite some time now by simply deleting all of the window dialog "forms" in the User Interface section of our installation package. Up til now, that has worked well: an administrator logged into a server who installs our package would perform an automatic "Everyone" install, while others would end up performing an automatic "Just Me" type of install.

I have the Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Deluxe Learning Edition from Microsoft and am trying to reinstall it after a hardware system crash requiring complete reformat/reinstall of Windows XP Pro and SP2. Now, however, when I get to the Options page, the installation location dropdown is grayed out and I cannot...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
