Deployment

Hi!
I have some problems using DotNet Setup Project for my application:
If somebody can send me an example I will appreciate this, because I am
wasting a lot of time and I am not pretty sure is possible to do it, so
thanks in advance, and here re the problems:
1- (a) I want to insert a registry Key (string) only if it does not
exist,
(b) and not to remove it at uninstall or perhaps yes but not to
remove it at repair at least.
2- I want to be able to repair my application in this way (Install
supported):

When upgrading application the step of repair/uninstall appear and if the
user select repair the new version will be installed in the previously
selected path of my application(I mean the path were the application was
installed before this upgrade)

3- I want to be able tu uninstall my application from shortcut in app.
folder and not from control panel/etc...

Is all/some of this supported in this kind of project?
If somebody can send me a little example that include some of this issues I
will be very happy.

Out of no where I'm starting to get these problems and my Deployment projects won't build anymore. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? I've tried copying these files from another VS.NET 2003 machine, but it doesn't look like it's working. The only latest change I've made to my machine was the Windows Update as of Feb. 8th, 2005. ...

Hi Everyone, I'm really struggling to get no-touch deployment to work well (if at all, in some cases). Can anyone recommend a good book on this topic? Hi, Can someone please tell me what is exactly zero deployment in VB.NET. Is it that .NET doesn't need to deal with the registry? If that is the case, then why MS introduced class registry? MTIA, Grawsha

I used to use the Web Deployment Project with my VS2005 projects. Now I've fully upgraded to VS2008. Do I have to download a new version of the Web Deployment Project? If so where can I find it? If not, how do I have to change my deployment strategy? Thanks!

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
