I have created a setup project and was able to include the exe as well
as the source code in the install. However, I have been unable to
include the setup project source. Therefore, when I access the
solution after the install, I get an error message stating the setup
project is missing. In the 'Add Project Output Group' dialogue, all my
projects are listed EXCEPT the setup project.
Any ideas?

On my dev machine (XP/Pro with VS.NET 2003) I have been developing a Windows
Service and installing it on the local machine by opening the Visual Studio
Command Prompt and then executing .
Now I want to test this service on a Windows Server 2003 box that doesn't
have the Visual Studio Command prompt.
How do I go about installing the service on the Windows Server 2003 box?
Thanks!

I've created a web setup project that works great for installing an
ASP.NET application to a virtual directory on a server.
I'd like to be able to use the same setup program to install multiple
instances - e.g., DEV, TEST, etc., as I see fit.
However, when once instance has already been installed, the web setup
project will not install further instances; instead, I get a message
that it has already been installed and I must use Control...

I published my app in Visual Studio 2005. I'm getting a problem installing
on one PC. During the install, the following error appears:
"Unable to run or install the application. The application requires that
assembly ADODB 7.0.3300.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC)
first."
The VB6 install used to give you a choice of adding references. The VS 2005
Publish doesn't give any options to include references. What should I be...

I've yet to find a decently worded and exampled article outlining how one can
perform more complex operations during MSI installation.
Specifically, I'm looking to copy the source MSI to the installed directory
(in essence saving a backup of it) after the installation has completed.
I found a couple articles that use an "installhelper.cs" file w/in the main
output project, but I've implemeted this in VS.NET 2k5 / .NET 2.0 with no...

Hi,
I have created a Solution in VS 2005 with 2 simple projects.
First project is simple Windows Service which writes an entry into
event log when it starts and when it stops. Nothing else. I have added
a projectinstaller also for that. I have used following settings for it
(developed in VS 2005 only):
1. For Service1.cs file, I have kept the default values. i.e. Name of

can someone point me to a URL or thread that shows how to install a web
service in a Windows Setup Project ? I need to install a windows app, but it
must install a web service in IIS too.

Hi all,
This is something that I have been toying with for about a week now. What
I want to achieve is Install a Service with Customised parameters (using
InstallUtil.exe) for User Name. Example (C#);
public class MyServiceInstaller : System.Configuration.Install.Installer
{
private System.ServiceProcess.ServiceProcessInstaller
serviceProcessInstaller;

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
