Please help,
I am trying to install MSDE 2000 so that Backup exec will run on this
server. I have gotten so far as to find an entry in my SQLSTP.TXT file
that says that c:\mssql7 was detected so the install fails.
Now, to start with there is no directory called C:\mssql7 on this
server. I have gone through all MS articles on manual removal of SQL
server and instances. I have searched the registry for mssql7 and
removed any keys that...

My attempt to follow the steps outlined in "Getting started with My.Blogs"
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnvs05/html/MyBlogsGetStart.asp],
fails immediately. Step 2 states
'Double-click on My.Blogs.vsi and accept all the default options. This will
install a new Template to the Add New Item dialog box called "My.Blogs".'
However, when I try this, the second screen does not show a default location...

I am trying to install the MSDN version of Visual Studio Professional
2005 and the goddamn install won't let me change the installation drive
-- it shows that everything will be installed to C: but I don't have
enough space on C and I want to install to a different hard-drive but
the damn install doesn't allow me to change the drive.
Has anyone experienced this before????

Trying to update my ActivePython installation I mistakenly downloaded
the Intel Mac version (rather than the PPC version) and tried to
install it.
The version did install but did not run of course. However, now trying
to install the PPC version of Activepython or even the 2.5 version of
macpython fails (actually macpython installs, but the installation
program
tells me there is an error at the end). Anyone know how to completely
remove...

A recent HD failure and next year's first quarter release of Red Hat's
EL5 made me decide to temporarily use FC6 on my sandbox system, an IBM
Thinkpad T40. UDB 8.1 (FP14) and a UDB 9 Express-C were successfully
installed after resolving some problems. Fedora Core 4 is mentioned in
the UDB install documentation as a acceptable base for development
systems and it appears that FC6 will support running DB2.
1. Neither UDB version will...

Wanting to look at V9, I attempted to install Db2 Express-C on a Suse Linux
box I use as a sandbox. Since I was less that thorough when removing
previous installations of V8 and V7, the installation failed creating the
admin server. I now have a phantom instance that I can't access or drop so
the de_install fails but the installation is essentially useless. Is there
a reasonable way to remove all traces of V9 so that I can start over?

about developing such an application. I remember I did something once long
back .. like including .mdf files into my project in the solution explorer of
VS 2005 and then used Click Once deployment tool ... to make sure that the
database and tables were created when the client installed my...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
