Is it possible to interoperate with Windows Messenger using .NET? For
example to create and register event handlers to various windows messenger
events like someone of your contacts to come online.
If yes please mention the relevant namespaces and/or classes.

Hi. Can anyone tell me what aspect of Norton System works is required
for login to Hotmail and Messenger? I am getting "page cannot be
diplayed" when attempting to log in to these sites only. Recently I
disabled Norton Systemworks and other components of Nortons (such as
the Firewall Service) so I can save on system resources and use
manually as needed. I turn them off, I cannot access Hotmail or
Messenger. I turn the services back on...

I need urgent help. Done OK for a newbie getting automation of Windows
Messenger into a Winform C# app but have three problems that I
urgently need pointers to. Point 1 and 2 are the same issue, I think.
Point 3 might relate to a threading issue:
1. I have written a C# Winform application that uses Windows messenger
automation.
When I attempt to send a file through the window messenger object,
there is some horrid screen flicking...

In A97, I used sendobject frequently. My default mail application when
I was developing in A97 up until July this year was netscape 4.x (yes, i
was a dinosaur and I know netscape 4.x was the bug that ate Sheboygan).
With my new PC and A2003, I'm using Netscape 7.2 (which other netscape
users tell me is much, much better than 4.x with respect to all sorts of
things).
However, my sendobject coding does not seem to be working with...

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any good starting points on capturing events
from an open instance of MSN Messenger 6.2 - I've looked everywhere and I
can oly get information for Windows Messenger. I've generated a dll from
the main exe but the classes look very unfamiliar compared to windows
messenger. Any ideas?

Has anyone had this experience yet?
What I'd like to do is have a Windows Service monitoring and automating
Windows Messenger on a server. I've already begun a proof of concept by
creating a little Windows app that connects to or creates an instance of
Windows Messenger. It even makes it log in using cached credentials. From
there, I can access the Contact List, and even listen for events that are
raised by the Messenger client. So,...

Hi I need to develop a training application. I would like to use the
functionality of windows messenger and "embed" it in a branded web page in
the same way you can take Windows Media Player and use to play video clip on
a web page.
All the clients would have Windows messenger installed. Is there any way to
have asp.net pages use messenger in this way. I would like to use the Voice
Messenger component of Windows messager but integrate it...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
