Programmaticall y adding item to explorers 'folder' context menu

I would like to programmaticall y (from VB.NET or C#), manage items in
the windows explorer 'folder' context menu (right click menu). I need
an entry to be able to pass the folder path to my application. If I
can configure this using the .NET framework then that would be ideal,
using Win32 a close second. Modifying the registry would be ok but not
sure how safe this would be on future versions of windows. Any help
much appreciated.

How can I use the designer to add a context menu to a class which inherits from a control, e.g. treeview, without adding the context menu to a form? For example, to add a context menu with "Select All" and "Clear Selection" to a checked list box? Thanks, Aaron Queenan.

I am trying to programmatically change the text of a menu item in a submenu of context menu. The menu item starts off as "Play" and I later execute this.menuItem1.Text = "Stop"; I can confirm with the debugger that the field value changes as expected yet this is not actually reflected in the menu itself. Any ideas? Mike

I have several context menu added to my forms. The forms are displaying items in a list view. When I click on an item in a list view, a popup context menu shows allowing me to chese between editing or deleting the item from the list view. That works fine. However, I noticed that I can call the pop up context menu also by right clicking on a list view item, just as it works by left clicking on it. However it this case my application...

I'm working on a plotting control. The plotting control will have a context menu with basic commands for "scaling", "zooming", etc. Is there a way that, from the parent form, I can add more commands to the control's context menu? I'm envisioning a case where the control has a set of context menu items, and the parent form also has a set of context menu items. Thanks.

I have figured out how to add custom menu items to various buildin context menus by looking at a project on CodeProject.com and then doing some registry searches. But I can't find how to add a complex menu item, that is, a menu item that has a submenu, or possibly a sub-submenu. I also cannot figure out how to tell windows just where in the menu the new menu item should appear, or how to add a new separator line to setoff the new menu...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
