doPostBack

I have problems with anything that uses doPostBack. I am running .NET Framework 1.0.3705.288. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've noticed that a doPostBack call always cause the position of the page goes up to the top of the page, after round trip. I'd like to place the page at original position where it was before clicking in any web server control, as if I'm using the following <A NAME="some_anchor">anchor</a>

Is there a key that can be used to pass to the Page.IsClientScriptBlockRegistered() to check if the dopostback() function has already been registered to the page? If not any ideas on how to check for it from a composite server control that utilizes the client side script?

I'm using 1.1 framework and IE 6.0. A form within a user control generates the following doPostBack method. The control ID of the form is not a valid javascript variable name, ie UserProjectDataEntry1:EnterPeriodTime. When the page is loaded, I get a runtime error when it parses the following line. theform = document.UserProjectDataEntry1:EnterPeriodTime; This used to work on the 1.0 framework. Any ideas?

In my form, datagrid, etc., I have it so when the user enters certain criteria and click the button, the appropriate records return. If the user enters no criteria, all the records return (in a give date range). Now, if the user enters a criterion and the records return AND there is more than one page, when the user hits the next page number, the dopostback runs and the page calls back ALL the records again (within that same date range)....

I have some javascript I would like to run after a doPostBack occurs: onchange="javascript:__doPostBack('Text1','');" The doPostBack is being added dynamically by .NET when it renders the control. If anyone can tell me how to tell .NET to add the doPostBack BEFORE any javascript in the onchange event, it would be most appreciated.

Hi , I used your suggested code to replace doPostBack in my application, but it seems window.onbeforeunload is called before, window.__doPostBack, so it can not change the condition for showing warning message. I am using datagrid with links as ButtonColumn but I do not want onbeforeunload event called when they are clicked. Any suggestion?

First, I am not a developer. My company works with a partner. This partner has a web app that we interact with. All of my systems can connect and login to this site. When we select an issue link, the system does a "doPostBack" operation. Some of my systems have no issues and work fine. Others fail and time out. I have spoke to the developer at our partners company and he believes that his app is not the culprit. There is no rhyme or reason...

The doPostBack javascript functioning is not submitting the page when called by linkbuttons (or an autopostback checkbox, for that matter). I'm aware of a problem with Netscape browsers and the postback code, but I have a workaround for that installed (and it looks like the code generated by ASP.NET when it renders the page does the same thing, namely, setting document<). However, the problem still exists under firefox. Has anyone come...

Hi, I write here for the first time, as a user and not as a programmer or developer. I have tried from my notebook to see the following address: http://www.vhsit.berlin.de/VHSKURSE/BusinessPages/CourseSearch.aspx I just fill in the gap SUCHTEXT with "cook" for example. It appears a list of courses. But when I clik on the KURSTITEL, it happens nothing! No extra window will be open. I have checked that PopUp Windows are not blocked! ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
